Rachelle's POV
I entered my apartment, half expecting to hear Martin and Henry yelling at the tv, or making conversation with one another. But I was greeted by silence.
After putting my bag down on the table in the kitchen, I walked into the living room. Martin was sitting on the couch, watching TV, but there was no sign of Henry.
"Babe." I said, getting Martin's attention. He looked up at me. "Hmmm?" He hummed. "Where's Henry?" I asked, becoming concerned about my little boy.
Martin pointed towards Henry's closed door. "He's really upset, and he won't tell me why." Martin said. I walked over to Henry's door and knocked on it.
"GO A-AWAY!" I heard my little boys voice crack. Poor baby. I thought to myself. I went in anyway. "Henry. It's mommy." I said softly.
"I DONT HAVE A MOMMY!" Henry yelled. "MY REAL MOMMY IS DEAD AND SHE WILL NEVER COME BACK!!!!" His cries got louder and all I wanted to do is comfort him.
He looked up at me. His kind blue eyes were full of fear, frustration and sadness. "JUST GO AWAY AND LEAVE ME ALONE!" He yelled.
I had never seen him this way. The happy and content little boy that I knew and loved, was replaced by his former self: Sad and broken.
With that I just left the room, leaving Henry with his thoughts. A few hours later, I entered his room. The cries that I heard had gone silent.
I looked at his bed. He was just laying there, peacefully sleeping. I smiled and walked over to him. Picking his blanket up off the floor, I gently covered him with it.
I kissed his forehead and left his room to let him sleep.
