Yi Su's POV
"She passed away. Jumped off your bedroom balcony."
The words are still ringing in my head. Yeon's face as she said that was implanted in my head. It seemed like a moment before when I was ecstatic that I met my friends who I thought I had lost forever. But god had to punish me once again. I had to lose my mum as well didn't I? I don't understand though. She died before I left, but why? What had been bothering my mum apart from my dad leaving?
I decided that before I get a heart attack I should take a bath. I sat in the bath tub still in the clothes I wore this morning. They were getting drenched and I could feel the water oozing through to my skin. The water was ice cold. I didn't bother with making the water the right temperature. The snow fell in tiny snowflakes outside the window. Loads rushed through the open window and fell in the bathtub making it even colder. The dark night outside glistened in the moon. I realised how long it had been since I last saw the moon without a synthetic ceiling between us and the moon.
Flashback
**********
"Mum? Why is the moon in the sky?"
It was a cold day outside. It had been snowing since morning and now me and mum lay side by side in the snow staring up at the clear sky.
"That is because little precious snowflakes like you need to be seen even at night. That way you will glisten and glow and be kept safe." she whispered in my ear as if it were some secret prophecy. The words tickled my ear. I giggled at how silly we were being even though we both know that I am going to finish high school. I liked being childish. Just then it started snowing again. Slowly the first snowflakes made the arrival in twos and threes before becoming a whirling snow storm. We ran inside for shelter. My dad was waiting for me in the living room. He turned to face us as we came in through the back door. He had obviously had a bad day at work.
"HOW OLD ARE YOU TWO TO BE GOING LIKE THAT OUT THERE! YI SU COULD HAVE CAUGHT A COLD. ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND YENA!?" He referred to my mum by her first name. He is definitely in a bad mood. Mum ushered me upstairs. She tucked me into bed and ran down. I was getting dragged to dreamland after about 5 minutes. My eyes were slowly...
slowly..
slowly...
closing.
I was about to sleep when someone yelled downstairs. I was yanked out of my sleep and I lay there staring up at the ceiling with wide eyes. It was my mum. She must have thought I had fallen asleep by now.
"SUNG MIN! DO YOU EVEN CARE ABOUT ME AND YOUR DAUGHTERS!!! DID YOU EVEN ASK ME ABOUT HOW MY APPOINTMENT WENT. DO YOU EVEN GIVE ANYTHING ABOUT IT!!! THEY SAID THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY KIDNEYS. I WON'T LAST LONG ENOUGH TO SEE THE GIRLS GROW. SO YOU BETTER STOP DRINKING TO TAKE CARE OF THEM. THEY DEPEND ON US... They depend on you..." she said the latter more carefully. I was confused. I didn't want to hear anymore. I closed my eyes tight and shut my ears with my pillows.

End of Flashback
Wait. Wait what. That flashback is crystal clear I remember it clearly. But at the time I was scared and decided that I was going to ignore everything I heard and I didn't want to question mum any further, I didn't want to see her cry. But. She said there was something wrong with her kidneys... But what? But what was wrong with her kidney? She doesn't approve of drinking or smoking. But over everything my head was spinning over a word that she said...
DAUGHTERS.
Emphasis on the final 'S'.

Hi readers,
What do you think about my first chapter in someone's point of view? If people like this point of view then I might do it a bit more often.
But anyway. What do you think Yi Su's mum meant when she said 'daughters' and 'girls' with an 's'?
Thanks for reading and please ignore typos or grammar mistakes.
