Yi Su's POV

As soon as I saw her my knees felt weak and buckled in. I fell to the floor grasping on to Ji Su's knees to stop myself from hurting too bad.

"Why-" my voice unexpectedly cracked "didn't I kno-" I started choking on my tears straight away and coughed uncontrollably. Two hands grabbed me by the shoulders and hoisted me up to lean on them. I turned to see Yi Eun unnie holding me with a worried expression. She had rushed over to help me get up. She took me to the bed she was sitting on and plopped me down. I sat there and opened my eyes still coughing. In front of me she was kneeling and wiping my tears away. She patted my back somehow immediately saving me from choking to death.

"Not now..." she whispered. She signaled with her eyes too. I looked around me to see about a dozen children with cute worried faces staring at us. I immediately felt guilty for worrying these children on their last days. I smiled a fake but real looking smile to them to show that everything was fine.

"See I helped this girl here and she's happy now." Yi Eun unnie faced me. "Poor you. You were upset about one of your family members weren't you." I forced myself to nod my head even though my body felt like stone. "Well don't worry we will help you smile."

She nudged me over a little and sat down next to me on the bed. After that we all took a vote about what to do. Play a game or listen to stories. The vote was won for stories by 13-1. I was the only one who wanted to play games.

"Yi Eun unnie is great at telling stories that's why we want to do that." the little girl who helped me smiled reassuringly. Yi Eun unnie started to tell her tale and I was immediately drawn in. I listened closely to what was happening. I have to admit that even I was liking this story. I huddled my legs in close. It was evening when the story finally finished. It was also time for Yi Eun unnie to leave the ward too. She waved her byes and all the children said they will miss her because she might not come back; she was getting discharged tomorrow. Yi Eun unnie brought me out and we started to walk to the public wing.

"Yi Eun unnie..." I didn't know what to say. There was lots to ask but nothing to say at the same time.

"Yah, Yi Su don't call me unnie. Don't make me sound old I'm only older than you by 2 minutes!"

"Sorry Yi Eun.....UNNIE!" I burst out laughing after saying that and me and Yi Eun playfully punched each other the whole time. It was as if we had known each other for a lifetime. After what seemed like forever of laughing our laughter died out and my smile faded.

"Yi Eun, why did I not know of you earlier and how did I forget?" I wanted to cry but I held it in.

"Yi Su. There is a lot I have to tell you so let's slow down." She slowed down and I quickened my pace to match hers.

"Yi Su. Me and you used to be the best of friends. We would never leave each other's side. We played together, ate together and slept together. We were so close. But one day you and mother were outside when it started snowing. Mum and dad had a ginormous argument because you were going to catch a cold for being in the snow. That was when mum finally opened up about her liver problem. Mum wasn't going to make it long but dad didn't believe that. He thought mum was just a liar who faked illnesses. He said that the only people in our house who have a real illness is us two."

"US TWO!" I yelled and heads turned towards us. I smiled to make it look like everything was fine.

"Yes. Me and you were both born with a really bad case of asthma. It was that night that when you were asleep you started coughing uncontrollably. I woke up startled from the bed opposite you and ran to you. You were having a bad attack. You opened your eyes and tried to clear it. You struggled so hard. You ran to get water and I could hear you running to the stairs. But I never heard you reach the ground floor. You tumbled in the dark and fell down the marble stairs head first one by one all the way down. I ran to find you when I heard a crash. That woke up mum and dad. You were bleeding by the head and lay on the ground floor unconscious. You weren't breathing. We thought we lost you-" Her voice cracked again and she was sobbing hard on my sleeve.

"It's my fault. It was all my fault." she continued through her sobs and I was going to say that it wasn't her fault at all but she held her hand up knowing what I was going to say.

"It was my fault. I was the one who stood in your room just standing there not even helping you. I was the one who took the water bottle downstairs to play a trick on you in the night since you drink a lot of water at night." her mood was serious. I stayed silent almost scared of this new girl.

"You went hospital and was admitted straight away. You struggled a lot in hospital but to god's grace you woke up after almost a year. I was so relieved and I was going to go hug you when the doctors stopped me. They said that you forgot who I was and that in you current state if you saw me the trauma might cause you to go into coma. So because of this I stayed away from you for a week but in that week mum and dad got divorced leaving me with dad and you with mum. I never saw you since then. I didn't think we will ever meet because you were taken inside SKY" as Yi Eun finished her story her sobbing was so uncontrollable she didn't have enough sleeve to wipe it away. I offered my handkerchief.

"Don't worry Yi Eun. I won't let you go again and I will stay by your side forever, OK?" I smiled reassuringly and patted her back. "It wasn't your fault."

"WAA~~~~ How much of your life have I not known Yi Su?" I almost completely forgot Ji Su was with us until then. I jumped in fright. We laughed and joked about me all the way to the public wing after that.
