He is so expectant
of everything
and everyone must be
perfect
no flaws
we have to struggle to open
all doors
one just isn't enough
and when the going gets tough
we must be tougher
when things are rough
we're not permitted to suffer
we need to be able to do everything
and if we can't grow proper wings,
he'll tell us
there is no other way
its sink or swim
When discouragement fills us up to the brim
we can either fly
cry
or die
Because all birds have to leave the nest
and they either choose to leap
or are pushed.
