"How are the triplets, I didn't ask before," I said as we continued eating. Our food had come just before and I had to give Cole some props, this was fucking delicious.

"Troublesome, let me tell you. The boys are perfect little angels until you add Olivia to the mix,"

"They tried to sneak a dog into the house. A German shepherd that they found somewhere. Apparently it was living in the house for about a week. I still don't know how we missed it." Dallas explained, looking to Sydney who just shrugged her shoulders.

"I know it was Olivia who thought of it," Sydney explained, "I swear she is trouble, just like you," Sydney pointed at Dallas to rolled his eyes,

"I wouldn't have ever acted like Olivia," He defended,

"Gretchen would beg to differ," Sydney said and twirled her pasta onto her fork. "She said you were a hell child when you were younger and I believe it." Dallas rolled his eyes and focused on eating again.

"You know I wasn't going to mention it, but it's annoying me," Theo started looking at Cole, "Why is your lip busted? And you, why do you have a black eye? A fight?" I saw Paige reach under the table to grab Theo's hand.

"A misunderstanding," Max said and put a piece of bread into his mouth. Cole nodded in confirmation before eating as well.

"What happened?" Theo pushed. Max looked at Cole to see if he was going to spill. I knew that they were over it and they put it behind them but I didn't want them to open the wound again.

"Nothing," I jutted in, "they just both wanted to protect me and it ended in confrontation. It's really nothing, right?" Cole and Max nodded in agreement. I smiled, happy that we could move on from the awkward topic at hand. Theo raised a brow in question but didn't say anything else.

"We're going to the Zoo tomorrow, are you guys coming?" Hailey asked, though her question was directed to Max. I was glad he was received so warmly by everyone, and by everyone, I was mostly talking about Hailey.

"I would love to, but I have a clients from 10 until 8." Max explained and I didn't miss the sad expression pass Hailey's face. Come to think of it, where the fuck was Dylan. Her boyfriend, I think, before we graduated. He was our other friend but I haven't heard from or seen him since I left.

"Hailey, where's Dylan?" I asked, and watched as Paige and Sydney both looked to me with wide eyes. "What? Did I say something wrong." I watched as Hailey slowly sat her spoon down and looked up to me,

"He left. I don't know where he went. He wont answer my calls or texts. He's just disappeared, I saw her eyes faintly well with tears before she blinked them away". She was so good at hiding her emotions. "I suppose I scared him off," she said before sipping her wine. I nodded and decided to drop the subject.

Dinner passed uneventfully. No more talk of Dylan or of Max's black eye and Cole's busted lip. It was a comfortable discussion that I had thoroughly missed while being in New York. We all passed on dessert, too full from our meals.

"Quimby will take you home," Cole said as we stood outside of Amethyst. The limo pulled up and Quimby hopped out to open the door for all of them. They all slid in and Quimby held the door open waiting for me to get in,

"That's alright." I said and squeezed Cole's hand, asking for help as everyone looked to me. Cole knew what I wanted and quickly jumped,

"I promised to take her home," he interjected, squeezing my hand back. Quimby smiled before shutting the door, not before I heard Hailey whistle from inside the car, yelling a get it girl before they drove off.
