I waited by my front door for what felt like ages. I debated telling Max since I haven't told my family but I figured if anything happened to the baby, I would definitely want his comfort. I could also use his support right now unless he was angry about this whole thing. I chewed in my thumbnail, trying to make up my mind when the door was pulled open.

Matt and Rapha were about to leave but I was blocking their way. God, they didn't know about the engagement, let alone the pregnancy.

"Hey, Red." Matt said and pulled me into a tight hug. I hugged him back, sighing in relief. I still haven't spoken to Matt since the night at the bar. "Don't worry, I'm not angry anymore." He pulled me back and gave me a once over.

"I'm glad to hear that." I let my hand slide through his, trying to conceal the massive ring I had sporting my ring finger but it didn't go unnoticed by him. He grabbed my hand and examined the ring.

"Rich bastard he is," He comments. "You're engaged?" He asked and I quickly shook my head yes, my eyes drifting to Rapha behind him. "Congratulations, Red!" He rushes me into another hug, squeezing the life out of me.

"Yeah, congrats." Rapha smiles though it doesn't reach his eyes. He pulls me into a hug too, a quick one. "He's a lucky man."

"Thank you," I say when he releases me. "You're both invited, if you want to come." I send them both a warm smile.

"Wouldn't miss it for the world." Matt presses a chaste kiss to my cheek before grabbing Rapha's arm and pulling him down the hallway. "We're running a bit late, parties to crash, you know."

"Right," I laugh and watch them walk down the hallway. That went much smoother than I thought it would. Now onto the hard part, telling Max about my pregnancy. I pushed the door open and stepped inside with my luggage in hand.

Max was sprawled out on the couch, watching TV with a bag of chips on his chest. I cleared my throat and he peered up at me, doing a double take before jumping off the couch. "You didn't tell me you were coming home!"

"I forgot and by the time I remembered we were in the sky. Sorry," I pull him into  a hug.

"How was everything?" he asked and led me to the couch.

"Great. My parents took it surprisingly well, so did Cole's father. We even have it already planned for December, I have my dress, the decorations are amazing. It's going great, Max."

"That's wonderful, Rach. Now, cuddle and talk time." I let out a laugh and lay down on the couch, wrapping my arms around Max's torso. It feels wrong to be this close to another male but I push it out of my mind. I know that Max means nothing by it, purely platonic.

"What have you done while I was gone?" I asked.

"Stayed here, ate chips, watched TV, went out to the bar, brought home a few women. You know, the usual." He shrugs.

"Nothing exciting?"

"Nope. You?"

"I'm pregnant." I say and freeze, waiting for him to respond.

"What?" He sputters, sitting up.

"I'm pregnant." I repeat, sitting up too.

"Holy fuck." His eyes wonder to my stomach. "How far along?"

"A little over a month. 6 weeks tomorrow, actually. I went to the doctor back home and she said that everything was alright, gave me a scan. You want to see?" I ask, reaching for my purse. "It's just a little dot," I laugh and pass him the scan. He takes it with a shaky hand, his eyes running over the picture.
