OH MY GOD!!! I was freaking out. It was like we were gonna die. Calm down I kept telling myself. All I needed to do was calm down.

"Ok, what do we do now," asked Taylor, trying to hide her sadness.

"We should head into the forest and see what we can find," sniffled Marlene.

"How are your injuries, Mackenzie," I asked.

"Fine!" she replied sharply.

She obviously didn't want to talk about it. We slowly walked through the forest as the leaves and branches hit us in the face and scratched our skin. We kept on walking until we took a break and sat on some rocks. It must've been a few hours. As I sat there I looked at the ground and thought about sad things. Then I heard something slithering. I looked under the rock and screamed.

"What's wrong!??!" asked Mackenzie.

I was too scared to talk. I pointed under the rock where a huge snake was hiding. I pulled my legs up and stood up on the rock. I trembled as the biggest snake, of all time, slid out from under the rock. Everyone was standing on top of their rocks now. The snake stopped in the middle of the 4 rocks. It was like it was frozen. Suddenly it turned towards me and started moving to my rock. It just sat down and stared at me. I screamed, again.

"SOMEONE HELP ME!!!! I'M GONNA DIE," I screamed.

No one moved. They were petrified. I leaped off the rock and picked up my stuff. I immediately started running. I heard my friends as they jumped off their rocks and ran after me. I knew the snake couldn't catch up but I kept running. As I was running I tripped on a branch on the ground. I fell face first in the dirt. I heard footsteps but when I turned around no one was there. The footsteps were getting closer and closer. I looked around but there was nothing there. No one. The dirt made it hard to see. I slowly moved up against a rock, frantically looking for the snake. I saw something what looked like a man, but I couldn't make out the figure. He began to trot limp over to me. It looked like he had something in his hand. I screamed on the top of my lungs, and he began to limp, as fast as he could. My friends ran over and I told them what happened. I pointed over but the figure was completely gone.

"You're just seeing things," said Mackenzie, nonchalantly.

"It's probably because you're scared," said Marlene, acting all tough.

"I know what I saw, I promise," I said desperately.

"Just get up," Mackenzie glared.

They didn't believe me, but I knew something was there. We didn't have anywhere to stay for the night so we kept moving. As it got later, it got colder. I could tell everyone was tired. We trudged on until we found a little house. In the house were 6 beds and a downstairs. There was also a ladder you could climb to go upstairs.

"Taylor and I will head upstairs, while Marlene and Briana can check downstairs, alright," Mackenzie commanded.

We all nodded. We dropped our stuff and searched our assigned area. Marlene obviously didn't wanna speak, so I kept my mouth shut. The downstairs was like a kitchen. There was a table in the middle, and it was surrounded by counters and pantries. There were also a few closets. Marlene began to check the pantries, so I made myself useful and checked the closets. I walked over to my first choice. The first closet had clothes in it which were not very fashionable. I walked over to the second closet, and it had a box in it. I laid the box down on the table and searched the third and final closet. As I opened it, my eyes grew wide. I didn't scream but beckoned for Marlene to come over. There was a skeleton in the closet. Marlene and I immediately ran upstairs. Taylor and Mackenzie were standing up there, and I let it all out.

"THERE. IS. A. SKELETON. IN. THE. BASEMENT." I shouted.

Everyone looked frightened. Mackenzie went down to take a look, but everyone else was too scared to go down there.

"Well," said Mackenzie, "There are 6 bedrolls up there, so there's enough room for us all."

"I'M NOT STAYING HERE," the three of us shouted.

"WE HAVE TO," Mackenzie hollered back, "NOW IT'S GETTING CLOSE TO NIGHTTIME SO I RECOMMEND WE ALL GET A GOOD NIGHT'S REST!"

We all looked at each other, silent and stunned. All of us looked at her and nodded. We climbed the ladder and got into the bedrolls. I turned my back away from anyone. As my eyes shut, I thought about the day. A snake and a figure, and no one would believe me. I sighed.
