A few hours later
Rose's POV

"Savannah hasn't woken up," Mum said dejectedly as she walked into the living room.

I sighed before saying, "And the Doctor's worse. Just 1 heart beating now." I sighed again as I sat down on the arm of a chair.

'I have no idea what I'm supposed to do,' I thought, thinking about the Doctor lying unconscious in Savannah's bed and Savannah lying unconscious in my bed. 'If only Savannah was at least awake, she'd be way more helpful than I am.'

It was silent for a few minutes as Mum and I watched the telly, while Mickey was on the laptop. "Here we go," Mickey said. "I've just found out about Pilot fish." I got up off the chair and walked over to Mickey to look at the laptop screen, while Mum stayed where she was to watch the telly. "Scavengers, like they said. Harmless. They're tiny. But the point is, the little fish swim along the big fish."

"You mean like sharks?," I asked him.

"Great big sharks," Mickey said. "So, what they meant was, we had them....now we get that." Mickey then showed me a animation of a shark snapping its mouth viciously.

"Something is coming....," I murmured, remembering the Doctor's warning. "How close?"

"There's no way of telling, but the Pilot fish don't swim too far away from their daddy," Mickey explained.

"So it's close?," I asked him.

"Funny sort of rocks," I heard Mum say, causing Mickey and I to turn our attention to the telly.

"That's not rocks....," I murmured as the the image became clearer, causing me to edge closer to the TV to get a better look.

"....coming live from the depths of space on Christmas morning," came the voice on the TV before the image became clearer, revealing an alien which roared loudly, causing us all to gasp and jump backwards in surprise. "The face of an alien life form was transmitted live tonight on BBC1."

About 30 minutes later, Mickey called me back over to look at the laptop screen when he had managed to gain access into the military.

"They're tracking a spaceship," he told me. "It's big, it's fast, and it's coming this way."

"Coming for what, though?," I questioned. "The Doctor?"

"I don't know," Mickey said, shrugging his shoulders. "Maybe it's coming for all of us." We watched the screen as an image of 4 of the aliens appeared. "Have you seen them before?"

"No," I said, shaking my head after studying the image.

'The Doctor probably has....maybe Savannah has too,' I thought, as we listened to the aliens speak, but I was surprised when I couldn't understand what they were saying. 'But I should be able to understand them,' I thought, frowning at the screen.

"I don't understand what they're say. The TARDIS translates alien languages inside my head, all the time, wherever I am," I explained to Mickey.

"So why isn't it doing it now?," Mickey asked.

"I don't know. It must be the Doctor," I said, not able to come up with any other reason. "Like he's part of the circuit, and he's...he's broken."
