What's Right in Front of You [colifer]

Chapter 16

Jennifer had been thinking about if she should leave the show or not and for some reason every time she thought of reasons to stay they all revolved around Colin. She didn't want to leave because she was going to miss their Friday night dinners, giggles on set, inside jokes and so much more. Was it wrong for her to stay just because of him? She started to realize that this crush was so much more then just something small. It was starting to impact her in ways she didn't want. Maybe it would be good to just leave like Lana suggested. Then this crush would finally be gone. She would no longer see Colin regularly, and then she could find herself someone who liked her back. However, the thought of not seeing Colin made her chest tighten. She didn't know if she would survive without him, but she knew that she needed to learn how to be independent. Colin had been there for her so many times that Jennifer was starting to forget how to take care of herself.

"Jen!" Ginny said to get her attention. They were having a final girls night at Lana's place to  celebrate the ending of the season. "Yeah? Sorry," Jennifer said startled. She was too caught up in her thoughts about the ending of the season and Colin. "Looks like someone is thinking about Colin," Lana teased. "Agh, just tell him already. You are thinking about leaving the show anyways," Rebecca said. "Ok while first I haven't decided officially if I am leaving and second why would I tell him? If I leave then I leave, there is no point in telling him," Jennifer stated. "Yeah but maybe if you tell him you guys might... it might work out," Emilie said trying to find the right words. "And what? We will live happily ever after," Jennifer laughed. "It could happen," Ginny said with optimism.

"Colin has already made it clear to me that he only sees me as a friend," Jennifer said. "Oooo you have never told us this before. Did something happen at dinner last night?" Lana asked. "While Colin asked me what happened to Taylor and I-"
"Wait did you tell him why you two actually broke up?" Ginny asked. "No not really, but he said all these nice things about me... and he said I deserved a happy ending," Jennifer continued. "What kind of nice things?" Lana asked wanting to know all the details. All of Jennifer's friends and the cast members knew about her crush on Colin. Jennifer always wondered why they encouraged it. Shouldn't they be discouraging her from having a crush that was so unreasonable. However, Jennifer liked how she was able to talk about her feelings with her friends. It was a good way to just let out all of her feelings. They also made he crush seem more normal and less wrong.

"Colin said that I was beautiful, talented, smart, funny and quite sexy," Jennifer gushed. "Ok while that is quite the opposite of he doesn't like you back," Lana slapped her on the arm. "He told me that I deserved a guy that would love me fully," Colin's words were ingrained in Jennifer's head. They were all she thought about when thinking about if she should stay on the show or leave. "See he loves you too, he is just trying to convince himself that he doesn't like you because he knows that he doesn't deserve a women as perfect and amazing as you," Lana smiled. "Those 2 words are actually exactly what he said," Jennifer remembered. "So you should tell him!" Rebecca said. "Jen I think you should just agree to tell him, as I don't think Lana or Ginny will let you leave tonight without you agreeing to tell him," Emilie laughed. "If I say I will think about it will you leave me alone?" Jennifer looked at Ginny and Lana. "Maybe..." Ginny considered. "No! You need to get this sorted out," Lana said sharply. "Why do you care so much?" Jennifer asked. "Jennifer you have liked this guy for 3 years now. Even if he may not like you back you still deserve some closer. If you get this crush sorted out maybe you can move on with your life," Lana said.

Lana did have a point. If she had closer maybe she could move forward. She could do those projects that she was looking at maybe even direct more short films. Maybe she just needed to hear Colin turn her down for her crush to disappear. "Ok fine I will tell him," Jennifer finally said.
