Even though Jennifer had yearned to kiss Colin "for real", she immediately pulled away. "This can't happen, we can't do this," Jennifer said strictly. "Sorry, I..." Colin scratched the back of his ear. "I am just gonna head home. I will see you tomorrow," Jennifer started to walk away. She didn't want to deal with this, she didn't want to start something that would just end. "Jen," Colin called after her. Jennifer had forgotten that Colin had driven her. "I am going to take a cab back home," Jennifer called over her shoulder. "Jen please let me take you home," Colin ran up to Jennifer and grabbed onto one of her hands in efforts to stop her from running away. "I..I can't do this," Jennifer said flatly taking back her hand. Jennifer was about to leave the show. She was about to leave Colin in Vancouver. How dare he kiss her knowing that she was leaving. She was supposed to move on with her life. "I know, we can just forget this," Colin frowned. He wanted to make things right between him and Jennifer. However, Jennifer couldn't just forget their kiss, she didn't want to. Even though it was so wrong, she had enjoyed it. It made her want him more. Colin probably didn't feel the same way, he couldn't. "Colin I am leaving in a couple days," Jennifer stated, would Colin understand what she was saying. Whatever happened between them it would have to end soon. They couldn't commit to anything. "I know, and I just want to remember that these last few days were happy. I shouldn't have kissed you. I am sorry," Colin said deflecting. "That's not my point," Jennifer said angrily. "What do you want Jennifer?' Colin asked. "I want to talk to you," Jennifer said in her head. They still hadn't talked about Jennifer's feelings. It seemed liked Colin just wanted to forget that she had told him. Every time it seemed like Colin was going to talk to Jennifer he would just change the subject. "Just take me home," Jennifer said.
In the car ride home, neither of them talked. All Jennifer wanted was to talk to Colin about how she felt, but she didn't want to be the first one to break the silence. It seemed like an entirety before they finally arrived back at their houses. "Thank you for dinner," Jennifer said politely before walking to her house. "Jen wait, can we talk?" Colin asked. He always knew what Jennifer needed. They were always so in sync. "You said you wanted to forget what happened," Jennifer snickered. She wanted to be alone to process her thoughts. "But you don't want to," Colin said. "Colin please, let's just go our separate ways," Jennifer begged. She meant it both right then and in the future."When you told me about your feelings for me I should have talked to you about it more. I am sorry. I should have told you that-"
"Stop Colin. I don't want to talk about this," Jennifer said. Jennifer could guess what Colin was going to say next and she didn't want to hear it. He didn't want to be with her, he just wanted her to stay. She walked up to her front door and fiddled in her purse for her keys. Why couldn't she find them when she needed them that most? "Jennifer please, just come over to my house and we can have a drink. We need to talk," Colin plead. "I will see you tomorrow," Jennifer found her keys. She briskly opened her door and closed it before Colin could protest.
Jennifer leaned against the door and she could feel her body slide down to the floor. Tears started to trickle down her face, she was so mad at herself. Why did she ever think that telling Colin her feelings would fix things between them. Jennifer didn't even bother to stand up. She just sat against her door crying. "Jen," Colin said through the door. "I know that you are not ok," Colin continued. Jennifer still didn't answer him. "Please let me in, so that we can talk," Colin said. "I don't know what to say," Jennifer sniffed. "Then just listen to what I have to say," Colin suggested. Jennifer nodded her head forgetting that Colin couldn't see her. "Umm... could you let me in?" Colin asked. Jennifer used the handle of the door to help her stand up. She then turned the door nob to let Colin in. "Thank you," Colin smiled. Jennifer then relaxed a little bit. When Colin saw that Jennifer had been crying he felt his chest tighten. "What?" Jennifer could feel Colin's eyes looking over her. "Nothing it's not important," Colin said. "Do you want a drink?" Jennifer asked. "No I am fine," Colin said. "Ok well I do, so just wait a sec," Jennifer then disappeared into the kitchen to pour herself a vodka and soda. when Jennifer returned to her living room Colin was sitting down on the sofa. Jennifer swiftly sat down next to him, and she took a sip of her drink. "Jennifer ever since you told me about your feelings for me I haven't stopped thinking about you," Colin started. "Ok," Jennifer wasn't sure what to say. "I normally think of you, but this was different. I guess you could say I reflected on our relationship," Colin stuttered, " you and I, we just work so well together," Colin continued. "I know, and that's why I was wrong to tell you about my feelings. It was selfish of me," Jennifer said. "No, it wasn't. I am glad you told me," Colin replied. "Colin I put you in an awkward situation. You have a family, and I don't expect you to leave them. I don't know what I wanted to accomplish by telling you my feelings," Jennifer rubbed her eyes. "Jen, it's ok. I... I like you too."
