What's Right in Front of You [colifer]

Chapter 17

Jennifer knocked nervously on Colin's trailer door. Today was the day Jennifer was going to tell him that she liked him. "Hey Jen," Colin smiled brightly. "Hey!" Jennifer said. "I was wondering if you would like to come to my house for dinner today," Jennifer said entering his trailer. Helen and Evan were in Ireland visiting family so Jennifer thought that tonight would be the perfect time to tell him. It would also give Colin time to think about things after Jennifer told him. "Ooo you're cooking? What's the occasion?" Colin asked. "I just thought we could just hang out and maybe watch a movie or something," Jennifer bit her lip. "Sound like fun. I will meet you at your house after we finish work," Colin said. "Ok see ya then," Jennifer said without thinking. "Jen we are filming together today," Colin laughed. "Oh yeah right," Jennifer giggled. She was too distracted on planning the evening. She still didn't know how she was going to tell Colin that she liked him. She couldn't just blurt it out. It had to be the right moment.

"Tonight right?" Lana asked Jennifer. "Yup, just invited him to dinner," she replied. "Ahh I am so excited and proud of you," Lana said happily. "Yeah, but I still don't know how I will tell him," Jennifer said hoping that Lana would have a good idea. "While what do you have planned for the night?" Lana asked. "Umm... I think I told him that we could watch a movie ," Jennifer said not really remembering her convocation with Colin. "What are you guys talking about?" Ginny said joining Lana and Jennifer. "Jen is telling Colin tonight," Lana said excitedly. " I just don't know how to tell him," Jennifer said. "I say just tell him straight up. You don't want things to be weird," Ginny suggested. "Things are going to be weird no matter what," Lana said. "Maybe you could watch an episode of Once and then at a CaptainSwan moment you could tell him that you wish you two could be like that always," Lana suggested. "Humm... that's kinda a good idea," Jennifer said thinking about her idea. "Yeah that's a good idea Lana," Ginny said. "I think I will do that," Jennifer said. "You got this girl!" Lana encouraged her. "Thank you for your help," Jennifer hugged both of them.

Jennifer ended up finishing filming earlier than Colin. This meant that she had about 3-4 hours to prepare for their dinner. She cleaned up the house a bit and then marinated the salmon that they were going to eat for dinner. She decided that she would make and cook the food just before Colin got there so that they could eat right away, as Jennifer knew that Colin was always starving after a long day of filming. She also decided that she would tell him that she liked him after dinner because then the whole night wouldn't be awkward and ruined. Jennifer was so nervous about the dinner. She was trying to image how Colin would react to what she was going to tell him. Would he think that she was totally out of line? Or maybe he really did have feelings for her too.

To calm her nerves Jennifer went on a long walk with Ava. They walked to a nearby park and did a couple of laps around the park. The park had a playground and it was nice day so there were many kids and their parents playing around. One couple stood out to Jennifer the dad was at the top of the slide about to go down with his daughter between his legs. The mother was at the end of the slide waiting for them. When they slip down the slide the little girl giggled and laughed with a huge smile on her face. When the dad and the girl got to the end of the slide the mother hugged them both. The mom and the dad then shared a kiss. They looked like such a happy family. Jennifer realized that she wanted that. She wanted to start a family and be a mother. She also wanted to have that with Colin. Whenever Jennifer pictured her future it was always with Colin by her side.
