Nothing Will Break Us

New Friend?

Ming was working one Saturday afternoon at university. He had another large project due in a week and wanted to finish it as soon as possible. It was around 4pm when Ming had put the finishing touches on his project and was happy with the results. Ming made sure to put it somewhere safe so it wouldn't be destroyed like his last one. When he had tidied up the room and made sure his project was in a safe place Ming then headed out towards his car. He sent a quick text to Kit explaining that he had finished his work and was on his way back to the dorm. He didn't wait for Kit's reply before he got into his car and began to drive away. 

Ming hadn't driven very far when he realised that his brakes didn't seem to work. No matter how hard he pushed on the brake pedal his car just wouldn't slow down. He started to panic a little because he had almost reached the top of the hill he was climbing and with no way to slow down he could end up in a serious accident. Luckily the hill he was driving up wasn't that big, but with no way to slow down he wouldn't be able to control his speed and could cause a major problem. As he finally reached the top of the hill and began his descent down the other side the car slowly picked up speed as it went along. Ming was trying to gain control of the vehicle but wasn't having much luck. Fortunately for Ming a huge stretch of flat. straight road ran out in front of him and eventually he was able to bring his car to a complete stop. This was the most scariest thing Ming had ever faced. 

After a few minutes, and Ming began to calm down, he was about to get out his phone to call Kit when a unknown car pulled over and out hopped a young man. The young man then introduced himself to Ming "Hey I'm Kaden. Are you ok?" Kaden said full of concern. "Yes I'm fine. It's just my brakes on my car don't seem to be working" Ming replied. "Oh well, do you need a hand?" spoke Kaden. "No I'm all right. I'm just going to call my boyfriend to pick me up" Ming said to him. "Oh well if you're sure. Well it was nice to meet you, umm I didn't catch your name?" Kaden spoke. "It's Ming." "Well nice to meet you Ming" replied Kaden "Maybe we'll see each other around again." Kaden then quickly hopped into his car and drove away. Ming got a hold of Kit and told him everything that happened. Kit was worried. He felt like someone was going after Ming and himself but he didn't know who or even why. Something was definitely going on here and Kit was going to find out one way or another.

Since the incident Ming had with his car (when he took his car into the repair shops he found out his brakes had been cut) he had run into Kaden a lot more. He first saw him in the engineering cafeteria one late afternoon. Kaden had claimed he was here to see an old friend. Then he saw Kaden again while out grabbing dinner for him and Kit a few days later. A few weeks later, after another run in with Kaden, Ming didn't know what to make of it. They weren't friends but Ming couldn't help feel that maybe Kaden was just lonely and looking for a friend. So the next time he ran into Kaden he asked him about joining him and his gang this weekend at the movies. Kaden was overjoyed at that prospect, knowing full well Kit would be there. 

Ming then texted his buddies about inviting someone else to the movies this weekend. He explained that this guy he kept running into seemed lonely and it would be a good chance for him to meet some new people. No one had any objections to this Kaden fellow joining them this weekend, no one but Kit. There was something about Kaden that made Kit worried. He didn't seem normal but he decided to keep his concerns to himself for now. Maybe Kaden was a nice guy and his suspicions were all for nothing. The weekend rolled around and soon the 6 of them were off to the movies, where they would be joined by Kaden. When everyone was introduced to Kaden, Kit was still the only one who felt something was off with the guy. No matter what he did he couldn't shake the feeling away. They all got their tickets then headed into the theatre. It was over 2 hours before the movie finished and the guys all agreed to go grab some dinner before they head back to their dorms. 

During dinner Kaden told them all about hmself. From being an only child, to his parents constantly away due to work. He even mentioned that he goes to the same univerisity as them, although in a different department. No wonder Kaden seemed lonely Ming thought. Who wouldn't with a life like that. The night wore on and soon it was time for them to all hit the road. Ming made sure to get Kaden's number before they left and promised to text him later about hanging out again. Kit wasn't too thrilled about this idea but he had no reason to forbid Ming in making a new friend, even if there was something fishy about said friend, so he just went along with it. They each got into their cars and headed back to their dorm rooms.  Ming made sure before he drove to far that his brakes were working. since that incident awhile ago Ming has been extra careful with his car. He didn't want to get into an accident, especially if Kit was with him.

As Kaden drove off back to his place, he was smiling. He couldn't believe it was that easy to get close to them so quickly. He knew Kit didn't fully trust him yet but that was ok. He would work his magic on Ming first, slowly gaining his trust before he moves to his intended target. Kaden had started to worm his way into their lives and soon he would be causing chaos. Kaden arrived back at his home and went straight to his laptop. He spent the next few hours watching his baby sleeping soundly. All in all it was a good day Kaden thought to himself.
