3 years had flown by since Ming and Kit were rescued from the clutches of Samuel, who now laid to rest forever, and it wasn't a walk in the park. Ming did recover from his injuries, he had to spend about 2 weeks in hospital before he was able to go home, but his body was laden with scars. He had one massive one that went from his left shoulder and trailed all the way down to his right hip bone. Every time he would look in the mirror Ming would feel absolutely disgusted with himself.
About 1 month after this all happened Kit went home after his classes only to find Ming curled up on their bed crying. Kit knew this was going to be a troubling time, he himself was barely holding on but he never once gave up. Kit had eventually convinced Ming to join him in therapy, it wasn't easy but after a year Ming was starting to believe in himself once again. They were slowly putting the past behind them and moving on with their lives.
2 months after their 3rd wedding anniversary Ming and Kit were stronger than ever. They had both finished university and currently working. Kit was working in a nearby hospital, mostly in the ER department while Ming was working as a lower class engineer. Ming decided that his family would always come first so he picked a job that wouldn't make him work long hours or take too many business trips. Although Kit had a few late nights when he was on the night shift, Ming was always home to welcome him back.
Kit had worked a long day shift, almost 12 hours, when he arrived home to find the house empty. This was the first time ever that Ming wasn't home by 5:30pm. Kit tried calling Ming but his phone kept going to voicemail. Kit was seriously beginning to worry. Ming was never late home without telling Kit before hand either with a phone call or as simple as a text. It was nearing 6:30pm when Kit had decided to call the others to see if that had seen or heard from Ming recently. Just as he was able to call his dear friend Pha the front door opened and in walked 2 little children, a boy and a girl. They were twins at the local orphanage that Ming and Kit would frequent when they got the chance. Soon after the kids walked through the door Ming had arrived right behind them.
When Kit saw Ming walk in straight after the two little children he began to cry as he was filled with so much joy. On their first visit to the orphanage over a year ago they had met these 2 little darlings. They were apparently left there by their mother late one night. Over time Kit had began to fall in love with these 2 angels and wished nothing more than to take them home and give them a family. It was very difficult, given their past, to adopted and it broke Kit's heart when he was told the odds of them being able to adopt was slim at best. Ming, seeing Kit's heartache over this matter did everything he could within his power to make these two little bundles of joy theirs.
The two little children ran to Kit screaming daddy to him as Kit welcomed them into a big warm hug. After a few moments with the kids Kit looked up to his wonderful husband with tears in his eyes "Thank you Ming, but how did you manage to pull this off?" Ming walked over and sat down next to Kit and kissed him on the cheek before replying "It wasn't easy mind you but I spent so much time proving to those in power that we would be great parents to these two little toddlers here. I did have some help from mine and your parents, as well as Yo's father. With those people backing me it wasn't long before the courts decided we could adopt them." "Why didn't you tell me anything Ming?" Kit asked earnestly. "Well I didn't want you to get your hopes up in case this didn't end up working out. I saw how heart broken you were when we were told it would be near impossible for us to adopt. I couldn't put you through any more pain like that." Kit was silent for a moment before kissing Ming softly on the lips whispering "thank you baby."
Dylan and Samantha, the two kids names, were now seated in between Ming and Kit's legs together. "Welcome home my babies" Kit said as he kissed each child on the cheek. The two small toddlers were so happy to be with Ming and Kit that they couldn't stop smiling.
After everything Ming and Kit had to suffer over the years they were now complete. Finally having the family they always wanted. It just goes to show, if it's meant to be then nothing can tear you apart.
