Lance's POV:

"Allura! Shiro! I found her!" Keith hollered as he ran back into the coffee shop. I looked around confused, and slightly embarrassed that my friend had come in, basically hysterical.

"Uh, Keith, buddy, let's take this outside," Hunk whispered as he began ushering him out the door.

"What happened? You found who?" I asked.

"(Y/N)!" He yelled as he shook my shoulders. I quickly shoved his hands off.

"What do you mean?" Pidge queried as he showed up beside me.

"I mean, I found her!" he proclaimed as loudly as he possibly could. For any passing bystander, he probably looked like a maniac.

"And how exactly did that happen?" Allura asked as she crossed her arm in a sassy manner.

"The two girls who ran out of the coffee shop," Keith paused his sentence and quickly turned to Coran. "Coran! Remember the girl who was covered completely, that was her!"

"But Red, the real question is how do you know for a fact that it was her and not just another random pedestrian?" Coran politely questioned. He took a deep breath, then spoke.

"Because I saw her face, every feature, that was (Y/N), no doubt," he spoke with no hesitation, no doubt. I simply rolled my eyes, he took notice and grew agitated. "Are you kidding me?"

"What?" I asked, growing defensive.

"I'm sitting here, blatantly telling you that I found our friend. And you have the nerve to roll your eyes?" he badgered. "What happened to you telling me that she was like a little sister? I know that if my little sister went missing and finally was found, I would be grateful."

"Let's just... not get our hopes up," I sighed.

"We don't have to get our hopes anything because I found her!" Keith yelled directly at me. I couldn't take his dumb face screaming that he had just found my best friend. I couldn't let him be the hero of the story, not now. I had to prove my worth, prove that I was more than just, Lance. I had to top his story, I had to find the crack he forgot to fill.

"Well, if you found her, where is she?" I challenged. He looked at me, opened his mouth. Then immediately closed it. I got him.

"She ran away with an alien. She heard me yelling her name, but then she ran away," he groaned as he ran his fingers through his hair.

"So, all you're saying is that you THINK you found her?" I scoffed. I could see the gears turning in his head. He was trying to figure out something to say, something to make it seem like he truly found her. It was hard for me, let alone anyone else to believe him. He'd been going crazy without her, we all were. You never realize how much you need something until you no longer have it.

"Keith, maybe you should just take a breather," Shiro recommended. He walked over to Keith and pulled him into his shoulder, but the red paladin didn't seem to accept the sympathy very much.

"You have to believe me Shiro, why would I make this up?" he asked, staring directly into his eyes. Shiro had a look on his face like he knew the exact words he wanted to say, but knew that they would only plunge the knife further into Keith's heart.

"Because this whole week, you've lost yourself in trying to find her. You're not focused, you've lost motivation. You've gotten to a point where you'll have to accept, she left for a reason, and she may not come back. You thinking she came back isn't going to make anything change the fact that she is not right in front of our faces."

"The barista said her name, I am not crazy, I heard her say her name. It was on the cup and everything," Keith defended.

"Then where's the cup?" Allura pushed.

"I don't have it," he fretted. I had become so infuriated with all of his excuses, I blew.

"You are crazy Kogane, just admit it!" I yelled in his face. He didn't say anything, he just looked at me. He looked betrayed, but I had reached a point where I no longer cared.

"She didn't leave for no reason, we have to find her and find out why she left, and if you don't believe me, then so be it," he huffed before walking off.

"Oh trust me, she left for a good reason, she left because you weren't good enough for her and she finally realized it," My words caused him to stop dead in his tracks, he didn't turn around, but continued to speak.

"What do you mean?" his voice cracked.

"I mean, (Y/N) left because we kissed, but she didn't want to break it to your fragile, useless heart by saying that I was a better man than you'll ever be!" I exploded. He needed to hear why she left, although I may not have meant every word I said, it just needed to be said. He looked over his shoulder with disgust, with anger, but mostly, with sorrow. His violet eyes teared up, but he didn't let the water fall. He turned around, and walked, and walked, before he sprinted around the corner. I should have felt bad, I should have, but in reality, it felt good. It felt great to have a burden like that lifted off of my shoulders. Everyone looked at me, each face different in emotions.

"You-you kissed (Y/N)?" Pidge scoffed. I'd never heard him sound disapproving.

"I don't see the big deal," I huffed as I began to walk towards the lions. Hunk stopped me by stepping in front of me. I tried to walk around him, but he was much bigger than I was.

"The big deal is that (Y/N) loves Keith, and vice versa, and you knew that! Put any other feelings aside, they love each other, and you stood in the way of that!" He looked me directly in my eyes like a parent does to a child. "I don't care the reason, there was no situation where it was right to do that. They have shown on multiple occasions that they love each other, and not only did you betray their trust, you lied, to everyone. Every moment when you said you didn't know why she left, you led us on, and I am more than disappointed with that." Everyone walked away, like I was at fault.

"Maybe they'll stop loving each other, and she'll have me to fall back on!" I yelled as they had walked a distance away from me at that point. I ran to the group, only to have Coran stop me.

"You don't just stop loving someone, your heart never stops yearning for the one person who made you happier than anyone else. I know that first hand," he spoke. I stood still, watching him walk along with the rest of the group back to the lions. He turned around once more.

"I thought I taught you better paladin."
