Chapter 20: End

The group look at Kurama with concerned, they knew that it wasn't easy for him to accept the situation, after almost hundreds of years being separated from her and all the suffering and sacrifice that she faces alone. Kurama lore his face, guilt with realization woke up his thoughts.

"Hey, Kitsune, just look at the positive side." Hiei spoke first.

"I think its better that way, if she forgot everything about me and her past life." Kurama answered.

"B-but Kurama, she waited too long to be with you again." Yusuke answered.

"If she remembers her past life while she's still a human, sadness still be with her and we know that it couldn't be avoid." Koenma said.

"Beside, we're fine before right?? Being her usual bubbly Botan, the deity, and me as Shuichi Minamino or Kurama?? We are good friends without realizing our own past and relationship." Kurama explained.

"So you decide to let the situation still the same??" Kuwabara ask receive a nod from Kurama.

"Huh??!! Are you really sure about it Kurama?? Do you mean that you don't want to be her mate anymore?? And her being just a friend is enough with you??" Yusuke respond with disbelieve.

"You're wrong Yusuke, if a Yokai Fox chooses a mate, her mate will be his forever mate that's the strong pledge when we commit." Kurama answered seriously.

"Then what's your motive let things like this??" Koenma's turned to ask.

"I will court her, just like a human does not because she was my mate but because I want to build up her trust, and loving me back without knowledge of her previous life." Kurama respond.

"Is that possible Kurama??" Hiei said with smirk.

"I do believe that mind can forgot but heart does not." Kurama give them a genuine smile.

"What can you say about it, father?" Koenma asked his father.

Enma daiou turn around before give his statement.

"You are free to visit her anytime, Kurama." Enma daiou stated. Happiness can be seen in the group faces even Hiei make a little smile.

"I'm glad! Everything seems fine now." Yusuke giggled. Kuwabara shouldered Kurama with a laugh.

"I hope you won't get tired of her, just love her with sincerity, Kurama. Even she's a hard headed and clumsy deity, not a gentle and maidenly priestess you use to love." Kuwabara said with point.

"It doesn't matter anymore, Botan is Botan whatever it takes, and I love her with all of my heart." Kurama stated with a blush.

"We respect your decision, Kurama. Make sure you won't hurt her, because I will take her away from you If you do." Koenma said with warn.

"It won't happen, Koenma sama." Kurama respond.

"You better to take some rest and.." Enma daiou seems losing some word, the group look at him puzzled. "Thank you for saving Botan from her suffering, I know that she didn't deserve to be alone and you prove that you'll are a treasured friends that she grateful for having."

"Thank you, Enma daiou." The group bows down to give respect to the ruler.

The gang returned to their daily lives in the Ningenkai, the difference was Kurama's daily visit to Botan always make time to be with her either asking her out, watching movies, or eat in the fancy restaurant. At first it gives curiosity to her but later on she use to it, her own feelings toward the red haired started to build up felt that she has a strong bond with him.

One night Kurama ask Botan to accompany him at the river bank and watch the fireworks together.

"This place seems familiar." Botan said looking at the surroundings. Memories sinking back to Kurama when the night they watch the fireworks together, but it didn't bother him anymore the most important thing in him was her in front of him.

"Botan." Kurama seriousness takes her attention.

"Y-yes, Kurama?!" Nervousness cannot hide from her; it's unnatural for him to be this kind of serious when she's with him.

"Botan, You know that we been together for a little bit long time already." Kurama face her with warm presence, Botan take a gulp trying her best to understand his words.

"Y-yes and we become good friends, right Kurama?? Ahaha!" Due to her nervousness, she laugh forcefully.

"I want more that friends, Botan" Kurama said confidently.

"W-Why so sudden, Kurama??" A shade of red covered her face.

"Botan I want you to know that I love you!" Kurama said and his face covered with redness.

Botan was so shock, she froze from her feet and no words escape from her mouth. His words pierce in her soul, her heart beat so fast that she cannot even explained. She never felt this way towards the red haired former famous thief Yokai fox; there something in her heart telling her the she loved this guy in front of her with all her heart.

She didn't even realize her own action but she felt that she miss this red haired for a long time, she hug her tightly, hearing his heart beat so fast.

"I don't know why Kurama, but I'm happy to heard those words from you. I don't have any feelings from you before, but this time seems different. " Botan look at him with warm and sincerity.

"Botan, I truly love you, without mistakes, would you be my forever mate??" Kurama blurted quickly.

Botan face becomes more reddish from his sudden question.

"H-huh?? Ma-mate?? It doesn't have a difference of asking me to marry you!!" Botan said.

"It sounds like, ahaha." Kurama gently smiled. Botan lowered her head a tightly grasping Kurama's sleeve.

"J-just promise me you won't ----" Botan words cut when Kurama claim her lips with sweetness.

"I won't hurt you neither leaves you, even in the Ningenkai, Reikai or Makai and I promise to be with you until the last breath of mine." Kurama said firmly and sweetly into his beloved deity.

"I-love you, Kurama." Botan respond. Once again he claims her lips with a passionate and sincere kiss.

Fireworks witnessing the most promising moment that they shared, and presence of love can be sense in the wonderful place. Once again A LINE BETWEEN THE SKY appeared.
