Chapter 4: Forsaken Memories

Yusuke was still in his wonder- stuck situation when a certain beautiful blue haired maiden grab his hand.

"You have a pure heart, that's why the jewel chooses you. This is my beloved memories, please remember me as well." Maiden Botan told him.

"Bo-botan!" A bright light covered the whole place.

There was a beautiful shrine with a peaceful presence; people gathering together make a wish and prayer. Bird could be heared humming with the wind, a warm breeze escape to the earth together with a warm and beautiful smile of a lovely maiden.

"Good morning priestess Botan, we are so glad to see you today." A old lady cheerfully and happily confront the Maiden.

"Obasan, I'm glad to see you here."

Botan Kumiko was a 17 year old Priestess of an Shrine, she has a strong powerful spiritual energy. She has been chosen to be a Shrine Priestess when she was a young, people love her and respect her. Having a strong and lovely personality maidenly gesture and gentle in words, a lot of difference from Botan, Yusuke and the others knew.

One day in the rainy night, Botan woke up in the middle of her sleep when she heard a loud blast inside of the shrine, she immediately get up and proceed to the place where the sounds came from.

"Who was there? Show yourself! I'm not scared in you!." Botan strongly declare herself.

A bright light covered the whole place and instant she sees a scintillating jewel in front of her and then a voice start to spoke to her.

"Botan! You are the chosen priestess to handle and to take good care of this Jewel, from now on you must use its power to protect those people that important to you. Use this for the benefits of all." In a blink of an eye the light and the voice disappeared, leaving her startle in her place. Starting from that day, people offering prayers onto that Jewel and the maiden give her all to protect it.

It was a lovely afternoon when Botan does her chores inside the shrine, her attention has been captured when she saw a strange image luring around. She felt odd about it and make a immediate action. Using her dagger she tried to hit it, but she end up in her back hitting the floor. Beautiful golden orbs and silver locks of hair display on top of her shut in her in his arms, she froze and can't even move but there's no fear in her eyes.

"Let me go!!" Her voice was strongly commanding

"Let me go!!" Her voice was strongly commanding. Botan was surely about a certain Yokai fox with beautiful eyes, face, and long silver hair. "Didn't you hear me? Kitsune (Fox)?? I said let me go!" Her voice was little angry than before, but she just receive a smirk from a Yokai fox.

"You're strong for being a human, priestess." Yokai fox answered.

Botan surprise take another dagger from her sleeve and tried to stab it to the Yokai Fox, but the mischievous Fox instantly avoided her attack, jump up and distant himself from priestess. Botan kneeled and get the talisman in her sleeve throw it into the Fox, creating a barrier.

"Tsk! Do you think it could stop me?!" Yokai Fox broke the barrier but another talisman appeared making him cornered inside the barrier. The fox seems enjoying his playful time letting the priestess win for a meantime, wanted a conversation between them.

"Why are you here? Yokai!!" Botan asked him angrily.

"Isn't obvious!?? The reason is the jewel in your possession." The Yokai Fox answered coldly.

"I won't let you! I will kill you!." Fierce are revealed in her eyes.

"HAHAHAHA! Don't make me laugh woman! Maybe you didn't know who I'am!! But before your very own death, I will let you know who I'am." The Yokai Fox was obviously ready to kill Boton, mercy was out of his eyes, only kill and kill and kill.

Botan felt his presence of killing, she aware of his intension and merciless. She gently backing out her feet and ready to run, obtaining the jewel inside of the precious box, not far from them. Sweat started to fall down from her forehead down to her chin but his fiercely eyes remained. She again and again telling to herself that she must get the Jewel in time before the Fox started his move to kill her, but she must distract the Yokai Fox first so she could make her move into the jewel.

"How could you escape from barrier?? Yokai cannot past in the barrier that I make." Botan asked the Fox to distract him.

"I studied very well the works of the Jewel, special power and skill helps me to watch you every day even though I'm in Makai, doubt, fear, loneliness, and being hopeless. All your negative emotions make the Jewel weak and lost its powerful barrier and I always looking for it!, until the time came to finally able to pass through into it. I cannot imagine that I wasted a lot of my time just to watch your pathetic life. At least it did help me to make my way here. Now little fragile trying her best to be strong priestess! Hand me the Jewel before I kill you." The Yokai Fox said.

"You must better to kill me if you can. I will never let you get what you want." Even though Botan was so shock from his words, she remains calm in focus to her plan.

"I did hear your prayers Priestess!! You wanted to leave a simple life, without any spiritual power, without responsibilities. Always hoping to be happy and not this kind of pathetic life of yours! HAHAHAHA!" The Yokai Fox laugh psychotically.

"Enough!! That's enough!! You didn't even know me! You didn't even know what's inside of my heart!! I want to protect all the people that important to me, people who treat me like a family, who treat me with respect and love." Botan respond with firm voice.

"They are all hypocrite! They smile in front of you but actually hate you! Treat you like a family?? Are you sure about it?? They just treat you like that to assure their own security. Cry now little priestess, stop pretending to be strong!!." He didn't receive any respond from Botan. "Hmmmm!! I know that you wanted to end this miserable life of yours, would like me to help you?? I will promise to kill you gently." Yokai added.

"Shut up! You deceiver!! I will fight for the sake of many people!, for the sake of the Jewel!!"

Botan run faster to the way of Jewel, when the Yokai realize her action he immediately destroy the barrier around him, he run faster to catch up the running priestess. Botan almost touching the box container of Jewel but before her very own hand it fall to the ground together with her. The jewel is now rolling over the floor, Yokai fox quickly run to the way of Jewel, but Botan don't wanted to loose. She stabs the Yokai Fox leg causing for him to fall. After he fall she briskly grab the Jewel, but unnoticed the Fox besides her also grabbing the Jewel, they both grabbing touching the Jewel, and then a black hole appeared under of them.

"Crap!! Not now!!" The Yokai Fox only respond.

"W-whatttt!!!" A loud scream escape from priestess mouth.

Both of them end up in world of Yokai, the Makai with the Jewel in their hands.
