Leappaw went out on patrol with Deathcloud, Flamewing and Melodypaw to explore the territory. Clawfoot's ordered. The clans has been there for three sunrises and Starmoon gave birth a sunrise ago. She gave birth to three kits. One she-kit named Willowkit. She's a grey and black she-kit. She also gave birth to two toms. Minnowkit and Grasskit. Minnowkit is a white and grey tom-kit. And Grasskit is a dark grey tom.
Melodypaw had been overwhelmed when Flamewing was assigned to be her mentor. "Now We'll spend even more time together!" She always mewed. Leappaw hadnt cared, as long his sister were happy.
Leappaw padded along side Deathcloud. They were going to renew the scent markers. The borders were new and they nedded some.
"I wonder how Moonclan is coping. I mean, they did lose Sparrowwing on the journey" Melodypaw mewed. Leappaw thought she talked to him, but her gaze were directed at Flamewing. As long as she's happy. Leappaw reminded himself. Leappaw couldnt help but feel jealousy to the ginger tabby. Melodypaw rarely spoke to Leappaw anymore. I wish that fleabag hadnt joined this clan. Leappaw thought.
"Alright everyone" Deathcloud mewed and stopped up. Leappaw noticed the border betwen Leafclan and Dawnclan. Deathcloud glanced at Leappaw.
"Do you two know how to do this?" Deathcloud asked. Melodypaw and Leappaw nodded.
"Shadowclaw told me" Leappaw muttered. He glanced back at his sister.
"Furyfang... taught me" she mewed, sadness filling her voice. Flamewing looked at Melodypaw with sadness and depression. He nudged Melodypaw's shoulder. Melodypaw looked up at Flamewing and touched his shoulder with her muzzle.
"Okay you two. You can stop now if you dont want to see what I've eaten" Leappaw mewed. Melodypaw let out a discusted sound.
"I dont need to see an eaten rat" she mewed. Leappaw couldnt tell if she meant it or not.
"After all, that mouse you caught did make Energystar a little sick" Melodypaw mewed. Flamewing didnt seem like he were about to cut her off. Leappaw narrowed his eyes.
"Oh well, im sorry i dont have a brainless mentor who'd let me do amything i please!" Leappaw hissed. Melodypaw narrowed her green blue eyes and drew her lips back in a fierce snarl.
"Atleast im not an outcast with two eyecolors!" Melodypaw spat. You just crossed it! Leappaw flung himself on top on Melodypaw and had her pinmed to the ground. He auickly lowered his head to bite Melodypaw's shoulder. Melodypaw let out a yowl of pain. Flamewing and Deathcloud raced over to the two battling Apprentices and splitted them apart. Deathcloud grabbed Leappaw by his scruff and dragged him away.
"Let me go so i can finish that... that... stupid excuse for a sister!" Leappaw hissed. Melodypaw almost flung herself on top of Leappaw if it hadnt been for Flamewing.
Flamewing grabbed Melodypaw by her tail and held her back.
"Enough!" Deathcloud shouted. He raised his paw and forced i down on Leappaw's head and held him on the ground.
"I will asign you Leappaw to care for the queens in a whole quarter moon!" Deathcloud spat. Leappaw lowered his ears. I messed up! If only i hadnt attacked Melodypaw. Leappaw gave Melodypaw an apolagitc glance but saw her still with white fangs and unsheated claws. No. She should just have stopped provoking me! Deathcloud moved his paw from Leappaw's head.
"Go back to camp" Deathcloud ordered with a hiss. Leappaw heard Melodypaw let out a snort. Deathcloud glanced at Melodypaw.
"Dont think im letting you off so easy. You have to care for the elders in that quarter moon" Deathcloud punished. Leappaw tried to hold his laughing but only let out small snorts. Melodypaw let out a fierce snarl at Leappaw.
"And in that quarter moon I'll exspect you two will stop whatever this is" Deathcloud scolded and send the Apprentices away with Flamewing. Just to make sure they didnt fight again.
Flamewing padded in between Melodypaw and Leappaw.
"I can come with you to Seasonleaf. You got a nasty bite on your shoulder" Flamewing offered. Melodypaw looked up at Flamewing.
"Thank you. I'll apreciate it" Melodypaw thanked. I'll apreciate it two if you two stopped moonimg over each other!
The three cats came to the entrence of the camp, seeing Oakstripe and Bluemoon guarding camp.
"Back so quickly? What happened?" Bluemoon asked. Trying to sound concerned.
"Apprentice fight" Flamewing explained shortly and narrowed his eyes at Bluemoon. Something tells be they arent exactly best buds. Leappaw raced down the entrence and meet Tigertail and the kits.
"Hi Tigertail. Berrykit amd Nightkit of course" Leappaw mewed. Berrykit and Nightkit glanced up at Leappaw with exitement.
"Leappaw you're back!" Nightkit and Berrykit squiled and jumped on Leappaw's back.
"Give us a badger ride Leappaw! Please" Berrykit pleased. Leappaw let out a mrrow of amusement. But before he could say anything Melodypaw came down with Flamewing behind her. She bumbed into Leappaw making Berrykit and Nightkit jump off.
"Melodypaw!" Nightkit and Berrykit seemed less interested in Melodypaw. Take that she-cat excuse! Leappaw gloated. Melodypaw gave Leappaw a fierce glance and padded away, alomg side Flamewing to Seasonleaf. I'll find someone to replace you. Just wait and see! Leappaw promised. Berrykit nudged his foreleg.
"When can you come visit us. We're bored" Berrykit asked. Leappaw shrugged.
"I dont know. But dont you have Starmoon's new litter?" Leappaw asked. Nightkit and Berrykit both shook their heads.
"Tigertail says were to big to play with them" Berrykit explained.
"They havent even opened their eyes yet" Nightkit exclaimed. Then Leappaw remembered.
"Well lucky for you, i have been asigned to care for the queens and kits for a while quarter moon" Leappaw mewed, puffing his chest out. Leappaw noticed sparkles in their eyes.
"Great. You can start by fetching us some new moss" Leappaw noticed Starmoon had padded past him. Her sleek silver tabby fur shining in the light. Leappaw gave a sigh
"Alright" he mewed. He heard Tigertail, Nightkit, Berrykit and Starmoon giggle when Leappaw turned his back on them. Just glad i dont have to take care of the elders. But wait... we only have one elder... urgh! This is so not fair!
