Yumna:
We were all enjoying Sunday afternoon at home, only Aunt Halima had calmed down, but she still got scared every now and then, and we had to make sure there was proper security, even though Ahad was working from home sometimes. Alhamdulillah, my in-laws were also back...

We were in the backyard, surrounded by a large garden of plants and various roses, and we were simply admiring the view.

"I still feel something is wrong," I heard Ahad whisper next to me, looking at my aunt and then at me.

"It does not make sense," he continued to observe aunt Halima until I tried to distract him.

"Please calm down and enjoy the breeze," I explained to him, noting that he still had that angry side, which made him suspicious, insecure, and angry.

We sat in our room finally it was night and the two of us alone.

"Ahad relax,"I grabbed his arm and moved closer to him I know he would go to any extent just to protect us he was even abit mad our Sunday was spoilt but may be Allah saved us from something bigger which might have happened.

"Oww someone is in mood,"he teased me and I looked away now I was happy he was coming to his usual self I don't like him being grumpy and all closed off we have always shared everything and trusted each other Alhamdulillah.

Just when he was about to continue a ringing snapped us from our romantic mood.

Way to spoil our mood.

"Where's she?"Ahad knew when he saw caller's name and I suggested him to put it on speaker.

"Whom are you talking about?"I nodded in response to Ahad's question about managing his rage.

"Do not act foolish, Ahad. You meddled in our conflict. This is between my brother's family and me. Stay out of it, and you will not be hurt," he sternly told Ahad, which made me

I narrowed my eyes at Ahad, wondering if he was taking a risk and risking his life, but he just shrugged his shoulders and said, "I am here to protect them. Why are not you coming and talking face to face it will be more intresting?"

His voice sounded frightening until I gasped and shut my mouth, saying, "Challenge accepted."

I ran over to him as soon as the call ended and gave him a strong hug that caused him to stagger back, but he managed to regain his balance and gave me a hug in return. While grinning, I was also concerned.

"What would happen if something happened to you or any member of our family, Ahad?"When I asked, all he did was shake his head in denial.

Let him come that's when we will find out whatever he is doing and why.

"Do not you recall anything that happened to make him act that way, or anything suspicious—perhaps he lost someone close to him, which is what he meant to say?"Despite my best efforts to remember, I was too young to remember anything Ahad asked me.

"I don't remember but may be Imran knows something or he remembers?"Ahad shook his head when I suggested Imran's name, saying that Imran had already been through a lot and that this would be shocking and could be harmful to his health.

Isha, during our prayer, I tried to recall something, and eventually, some pictures came to me: we had a younger cousin, and my uncle had a son.

"Ahad, I remember my uncle and aunt had a son," I told him, and his eyes widened; he stared at me as if I was lying, but I remember now that we used to live together, some memories were flooding back.

"Ahad, we can ask Aunt Halima," I suggested, but he said let her rest and we will talk later.
*****
It was Monday, and we were still waiting for my uncle to move. Ahad had meetings at home and worked from home. Imran was improving slightly, and his wedding was approaching, but we needed to figure out who my uncle was talking to, as well as who was assisting him and providing all of the information.

We were having lunch, but Ahad was preoccupied with his fork, not touching any food.

"Aunty, I need to ask you a question, and I need a real, honest answer."Ahad was looking straight ahead this time.I hope my aunt does not panic and speaks the truth.

"We are here to support you," I said, squeezing her hand. She nodded.

"Did you have any son?"Ahad asked the question, and I saw my in-laws' eyes widen as they were surprised, particularly Ahad's father...

What was he trying to hide? No, Yumna, do not doubt him; he can not be the one with your uncle...he can not hurt us, and do not think too much.

"We had a son, but he died on the same day Yumna and Imran's parents died," she said quietly, lost in thought.

The information I am about to share with you will alter everything I have said, but...

Suddenly, there was a loud knocking and ringing of the door bell. Everyone turned to face each other.

Just as we were about to discover the truth, someone else has arrived.
