"What were you guys doing?" asked Marina.
"We were just talking," said Jon.
"Oh, really... Mm-hmm, I totally believe you guys. Anyway, Jonathan, can we go now?"
"Wow, yes, of course we can go now," Jon said, sneaking a wink at me.
Stupid, stupid, stupid!, I thought, while flashing a fake smile at Jon. He better get rid of those thoughts he's having, whatever those thoughts may be...
I told Randy that I needed to talk to Colby tonight, much to Alanna's dismay.

Colby and I just went in our casual clothes, it wasn't like we needed to dress up or anything. We went to a pizza joint.
"So, Colby, what's been happening in your life right now?" I said, taking a bite out of my pizza.
"Ehh... I gotta admit it's gone so-so with Marina so far. Unfortunately, it's not too far, seeing we aren't even dating yet,"
"Mm-hmm," I acknowledged. "I heard about a certain... Leighla?"
"Oh, yeah, her... I haven't figured her out yet, really. I mean, I like her. But I like Marina, too. See, I'm in this kind of dilemma where I'm like, oh, you know, am I gonna date a girl I've been friends with for a while, or a girl who's pretty much OK with my friends... you know, besides Randy and Hunter,"
"Now, that's the kind of dilemma I faced, except it was with more people. It was either Stu (BNB), or Stephen (Sheamus), or Jon, or Randy, or the whole men's locker room, you know?"
"Yeah, I know. Jon's been all mopey since, you became Randy's girlfriend. He was all crying like, oh, I spilled my feelings out for her, and blah blah blah. Well, that's crap, because apparently Randy's daughter wants you two to conceive her a new sibling and to get married... It's like, boom. Mind blown. Randy even confessed to me that it was kind of annoying, dealing with Alanna, and dealing with stupid Jon freaking bathing in his own tears."
"Wow, Colby. I knew I screwed up, but not that bad," I took three more bites out of my second slice of pizza.
"No, don't think you screwed up. It's not your fault that Randy and you are a thing now, so that's something Jon has to deal with,"
I was silent for a while, and then Colby asked me why I was so silent.
"Well... I kinda have to confess something,"
"Then, 'fess up, because I'm kind of your best friend,"
"Best GUY friend,"
"Yeah, that... Now tell me!"
"Wow, anxious to hear, much?"
"Yes! I'm anxious! Now tell me!"
"OK..." Man, this wasn't easy to do, but I'm going to cut to the chase, just like he cuts to the chase with everything and is brutally honest. "Jon and Marina are on a date,"
"WHAT?!"
"Chill, Colbs, you and her aren't even dating!"
"Woah, you expect me to chill?!"
"Heck yeah. Now, they aren't dating either, so, how about at the end of it all we just sit down and talk about it?"
"We are sitting down and talking about it,"
"Smartass, you. Oh, hey, I have to tell you that while Jon and I were waiting for Marina to get ready for their date, Jon and I talked a bit and, I guess we reconciled,"
"Wow, really? I thought that'd never happen. What did you tell him to make him see reason?"
"Well, I just told him how Alanna wants her dad and I to conceive,"
"Mm-hmm,"
"And... how Jazzy was a total villain to Alanna, not even acknowledging her, you know? So, then I tell him how I'm totally the opposite with Alanna, and how I acknowledge her, and I'm starting to form a bond with her, you know?"
"Yeah, of course. That's enough to make anyone see reason. I mean, yeah, I saw reason in it anyway, so..."
"Yeah. So how are you feeling about Jon and Marina now?"
"Well, I'm not so yay OK about it, but at the same time, I realize I don't have any control over who Marina nor Jonathan date."
"So, you're just like... meh,"
"Exactly,"
Colby and I finished our pizza, and then he took me to my hotel room, and then he went to his own.

In the interim, Marina called and told me that her date with Jon was fine and that maybe, just maybe, they may be getting somewhere.
She passed the phone to Jon.
"So, what did you and Colby talk about?" Jon said, in his always casually raspy voice.
"Oh, just about stuff that was happening in each others' lives... I... I might've told him about you and Marina,"
"WH- WHAT? YOU WHAT? YOU CAN'T KEEP A DAMN SECRET FOR ME?! How'd he react?"
"Just like you did. He was like 'WHAT?!' and then I told him to chill and then he said how do I expect him to chill and whatnot. But then he saw reason, and although he said he wasn't so happy about it, he realized he doesn't really have a say in who you or Marina date, whether it's each other,"
"Oh. I expected a worse reaction,"
"Come on, Jon, you know him,"
"Yeah, I guess I do,"
"Alright, talk to you later,"
"Yup,"
When our little phone call was finished, I saw that I had a text from Randy.
Hey Gloria :)
Hey Randy. How's Alanna?
She's fine. Sleeping, but fine. I heard her sleep talk about a sibling.
Wow. You and I haven't even gone all the way and she's already wanting that. Colby and I talked about that, and he said that that's just crazy, that she wants that.
Well, I'm crazy, so, see where she gets it from.
Yes, I totally see.
Haha, you're funny. Anyways, I miss you, and I'm going to bed now. Love you.
Love you too.

This had been SUCH a prolix night. I just needed to sleep already.
