Yeah so the ride to the hospital was a tad bit awkward. Me and Gabe talked a little meanwhile Ryan sort of just focused in and listened intently.
"We're here." Doctor Sherman told us and I smiled gratefully.
"You, sir, are a hero." I whispered to him so that the twins couldn't hear me and he chuckled.
"I'll go get us some help." Ryan spoke up for one of the first times since we got in the car.
I nod at him, and look at my little sister's sleeping face.
"Elena." I gently poke her face since I can't exactly shake her shoulder and she groggily opens her eyes.
"What? I was dreaming about chocolate and ice cream, so this be good or else." Elena glares at me and I just smile down at her.
"We're at the hospital." Elena yawns and out of habit she stretches, making her wince and I flinch as I look back down at the protruding bone.
"Are they going to fix me?" I look down sadly at her and nod.
"Yes, Elena. They'll fix you."
The meds finally come out of the hospital and Ryan is behind them, looking a little ticked off.
"What's wrong?" I ask Ryan worriedly, closing the distance between us in long strides.
"Nothing, just got a call from Serge."
"Daddy dearest wants you back?" Gabe sneers and I clench my jaw at the reminder of what he did.
"Get over yourself, Gabe." Ryan snaps and I glare at them both.
"Shut up, both of you. This is about my sister. Not you." Ryan lowers his head and Gabe looks away guiltily as Elena is put carefully on the stretcher.
"Sorry." Ryan apologizes and I shake my head tiredly.
"Whatever. Let's go." I order, following the stretcher that is carrying my sister.
Doctor Sherman is talking to another doctor and as they nod in understandment I get closer to hear what they're saying.
"Hey gorgeous." I'm stopped by an annoying red head and I put my hand on my hip.
"Why are you here Caleb?" I ask and he smirks.
"Security, remember?" He gets closer to me and I take a step back, not in the mood for his banter.
"Then please go guard my sister." I tell him firmly, feeling tired all of a sudden.
"Are you okay Serena?" Caleb looks at me like he's almost accusing me of something and I shrug.
"Fine, I'm just a little tired." I tell him truthfully and he looks at me with pity.
"Guess royalty wasn't quite what you imagined, is it?" My head snaps up, giving me whiplash I'm sure, and I grit my teeth.
"I'm not royalty."
Caleb laughs, throwing his hands up in surrender and before I can say anything he goes after my sister.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" I let out a scream of frustration because of everything that's happened in such short time is all because of the twins and me being their mate.
"Come on, sweetie." A mother pulls her daughter away from me quickly sending me looks.
"Well, the locals seem nice." I mutter sarcastically and head in the hospital to be there for my sister.
Because she's what matters most to me, my heart, and nothing else in between.
