Aaron POV
I woke up from my nap. Alex was on the phone beside me. On my other side was Roni. I move my arm. I haven't been able to do that since I got shot.
" Omg Aaron you moved your arm" Roni says scaring me
" Yeah. I didn't even hurt!"
" Aaron that means you can come home"
Alex says excitedly. He gets up to tell the doctors. They give me a shot in the arm. They tell me that I'm a fighter because most people can only do that a week after the incident happened. They will take me out of the hospital today. I'm so happy. I look over at Roni. She's frowning.
" Hey what's wrong beautiful"
" Nothing"
" I can tell when something is wrong come on"
" Well, Ethan found out you were shot and he sent me a message" she shows me the message. It reads " hey since that jerk that's been distracting you from me is dead HMU"
" Are you going to text back?"
" What do I say"
" What ever feels right. If you want to be with him hit him up. I rather see you happy with him then see you sad without. If you don't want to be with him just tell him. Whatever your decision is I will be right here by your side" I say. It pains me to see her having to choose but whatever makes her happy.
" Aaron I want to be with you"
" Ok tell him no thank you and no harsh feelings"
" You are so sweet. I know you love me but you were willing to risk your happiness for mine"
" I would do whatever makes you happy" I say . She leans in and kisses me.
" I could get used to that" I say smiling we talk for awhile. The doctors come in and discharge me. We get home. I can't bend over so I have to sit for a whole month. Roni sits beside me.
" Roni I just want to thank you for staying with me. You could have gone with Ethan. He younger and fitter and more handsome than me. You also could have left me because I can't move for like a month. But you stayed."
" Aaron I couldn't leave you. You risked your life for me. I couldn't leave the person I love."
" Can I tell you something that I haven't told anyone else but family about"
" Of course"
" Well when I was dating Sarah we were eating and someone tried to stab her. I fought him and he end up stabbing me in the leg. Sarah left me there she didn't call 9/11. She didn't defend me like you did. She left me there to die. We broke up because of it."
" OMG Aaron I'm so sorry. If I ever see her...
" Roni that's the thing she moved away. She kept running from court because she doesn't want to get in trouble. She didn't love me. One day when she was moving she left her phone. They went through her contacts and found she had hired someone to kill me. She didn't want me to live."
" Where is she now"
" She committed suicide"
" That's why you thanked me for staying" I nod my head yes and she comforts me. We watch movies and fall asleep. Roni stays over because she wants to get up early to meet my family.
