Talk Time

Roni POV
Aaron and I grab something to eat for everyone at home. I'm excited to see Malaya and Andrew's reaction to Hedgie. I don't think they have ever seen one in person. Aaron brought some Pom poms and put them in a box. When we get home we will put Hedgie in the box. We get to Aaron's parents place. As soon as we open the door Malaya comes running down the stairs and ask what's in the box. We explain and she calls Andrew down. We show them Hedgie. We make sure that they are careful when touching him. I don't want them to get hurt by his little needles. They first time I touched him it kind of hurt so I don't want them to get hurt. Malaya soon said she wants to go play. We go outside with the bouncy house. Me and Aaron race her and Andrew a couple of times then I bring some drinks outside and sit down. Aaron comes sit beside me and we watch them play. Then we decide to have our annual talk time.
"What should we talk about" He ask
"Let's talk about you"
"Why me"
"I mean you have done so much for me over the past couple of weeks. You have been there for me through thick and thin."
"Well when you put it that way"
"So what's going on in your life"
"I mean I was a little stressed about your gift. I didn't want you to find out"
"It was the best gift ever"
"Really"
"Of course" I glance at Hedgie who's taking a nap. Aaron and I talk for what was five minutes but felt like forever. We get lost in each other eyes. It's one of the best feelings ever. I love talking to him. I can't believe I'm got so lucky. Aaron checks the time. It's almost Malaya's bed time. We tell them to come in. I help give Malaya a bath then tuck her in. Everyone tells her goodnight. Then Aaron gets a call from Alex. He steps out to take it. I think I know what it is but I'll wait. Mrs. Burris calls me down stairs.
"Hello Veronica"
"Hi Mrs. Burris"
"Are you enjoying your stay"
"Yes"
"I called you down here to say thank you"
"For what"
"For taking care of Malaya and Andrew"
"No problem they're both so sweet"
"When Aaron brought home his last girlfriend she was rude to Malaya and Andrew. Malaya would ask to play and she would tell her to grow up. Then one day Malaya gave her a stuffed animal and she ripped the head off. Malaya cried for hours. Andrew was just playing video games but she wanted to watch Tv so she turned the game off a pushed Andrew off the couch. We started seeing Aaron less and less because she told him to stop coming. I never liked her"
"I would never do anything like that. That's insane"
"You are a great person and Malaya told me she really likes you"

"Sorry to interrupt but Alex wants to talk to you Mom" Aaron pops up out of nowhere. He gives his mom the phone while holding Hedgie. He passes me Hedgie and I fed him and put him in the pool of Pom poms. We watch some Tv and hold hands next thing I know I'm drifting off to sleep.
