Roni POV Me and Aaron go to the Grove a lot so we meet in the same spot. By a tree with a hole in it. When I look at the tree I find a note and a little purple gift box. I open the note and see Hey beautiful if your reading this it's because I can't meet you here. Alex made me film a vid and I have to take Guppy to the vet. I'm sorry I couldn't be here in person to give you this but it's in this box. I had to let you know in a while advance so you can mark it off your calendar. Love Aaron I was so excited to see. I open the box and it's a flip book. I flip it fast and it says we're going to Lake Tahoe. It had to tickets for February. On the day before Aaron's birthday. I was so happy I could scream. I couldn't because I was in public but I wanted to. I drive back home in such a good mood.
Aaron POV I was about to head out to meet Roni but Alex walk up and begs me to film a vid. I agree. I quickly film and then go take the present to The Grove. I hope Roni is not to mad. Then I hurry to take Guppy to the vet. Everything is fine his shots just needed to be updated. Then I go get ready to play basketball with Kian. Just as I finish I hear the doorbell. "Hey what's up man" I say opening the door " Ready to get your ass kicked" " Not even a hello or anything I see how it is" I say jokingly " Sorry man I'm just saying the winner now" " Bet twenty on it" " Fine" " Guess someone's losing 20 dollars today" " Hell naw" " Hell yes" We go out and like twenty minutes later we see a car pull up. Wonder who it is.
Roni POV Me and Aaron were texting back as forth. He said he had to go he was going to play basketball with Kian. I told him send me a pic. I went down stairs. I got Aaron's pic. " Hey Nessa" " What look who's hanging out "showing her the pic of Aaron and Kian. " Oh let's go surprise them" I go upstairs. I have to look really cute. How is he blessed with looking amazing even when he just wakes up. I take a shower and put on makeup and this outfit.

I am satisfied with the way I look. I walk down and see Nessa waiting. We leave out and pull up to the apartment basketball court. We watch them for a minute or two. Aaron is so amazing at basketball. It's his passion. I start to zone out thinking about him. Then I here Nessa yell "HEY BOYS OVER HERE" just as Aaron crosses over Kian. Kian walks over and start talking to Nessa and they go to talk on the bench. Then Aaron comes over. " Hey beautiful" " Hey handsome" " Did you get your surprise" " Yes I love it but it would have been better if you were there" " Does this make up for it" he leans in and kisses me and I kiss back. Sparks fly. My world is complete. " Yes it sure does" then he picks me up and swings me across his shoulders. He runs around the court with me on his shoulders. We giggle and laugh then Kian ask if we want ice cream. I say sure then Aaron and Kian go to Aaron's apartment to shower and change. Aaron goes in his bathroom and Kian goes in Alex's bathroom. They come out and we walk across the street to the ice cream place. We where half way there when someone grabs me by my arm. ( Aa= Aaron, R= Roni, ?= Guy who grabbed Roni, K= Kian, N= Nessa) R: Let me go! Aa: Man just let her go ?: No K: Dude stop just let her go N: I have pepper spray R: Who are you ?: An old friend Aa: Elijah? ?: Yep R: Dude I don't like you. Get over me ?: I don't want to. Your my dream girl R: Well your not my dream boy please leave me alone. We can be friends. ?: Well if I can't have her no one can Aa: Man you don't have to do this But it was too late. I was bracing myself for the pain. As I open my eyes because the gunshot hadn't hit me yet. I see Aaron on the ground blood coming out of his shoulder and Kian trying to pull Elijah off of him.
Aaron POV We were on our way to get ice cream. I was in a great mood. I had the most beautiful girl beside me. As I was in my thoughts some man in a black mask grabs Roni by the arm. He won't let her go. He said was an old friend. I connect the dots and figure out that it's Elijah. He pulls a gun and says if I can't have her no one can. I try to tell him he doesn't have to do it and look over at Roni bracing herself. He fires. I jump. I have to protect Roni. I feel it hit my left shoulder . I wince in pain and fall to the ground. Elijah starts kicking and punching me but I can't fight back. Kian gets him off of me. Nessa pushes Kian out the way while crying. Roni grabs the gun and fires. Hitting Elijah straight in the chest. She collapsed beside me and holds my hand and pets my head. Nessa calls 9/11. Roni's crying. My knee and side hurts like crazy and my shoulder stings. I still manage to mutter " It's going to be ok" Roni yells don't leave me I nod. I fight the black consuming me. I stay awake. I stay alive. For her.
