Chapter 18- To Climb A Tree

♡Baby's P.O.V.♡

Kakashi stood to the side of the four of us. He had crutches tucked under his arms and a leg slightly lifted. But, of course, his injuries didn't stop our training. After finding out Zabuza was still alive and breathing, more training seemed to be on the agenda.

In front of each team member was a tree, tall and mighty. "This training will consist of climbing the tree in front of you," he began. The concept seemed easy, but knowing Kakashi this wasn't about strength or agility. It would have to do with chakra skills.

Kakashi knows each of our abilities on the field when it comes to hand to hand, but we haven't had a chance to show our strengths in Jutsu. But my other teammates didn't realize this.

"Sensei, how is climbing a tree going to benefit us with fighting Zabuza?" Sakura questioned. Kakashi walked, or limped, closer and began to speak again. "You must climb the tree without using your hands."

I knew it.

This new piece of information seemed to surprise Naruto and Sakura but Sasuke just smirked. Kakashi threw down kunai knives in front of each of us and walked towards the tree.

"How are we supposed to climb a tree without using our hands?" Naruto questioned with a confused gaze. Kakashi proceeded toward the trunk only to walk up it and hang upside down on a branch high up.

Eyes widened as our sensei smirked and dropped back down. After that, he sent us off to do our thing. I must say, it was amusing to watch Naruto and Sasuke absolutely fail at this. Sakura, on the other hand, made it to a higher branch with less difficulty.

She sat on top of the long branch with a triumphant smile. Kakashi looked at her with a proud smile than to Naruto and Sasuke. "Looks like Sakura had a higher chance to become Hokage and make her family proud," he said with a sly smile.

I giggled as Naruto and Sasuke growled and went harder at the branch. This time Naruto made to a foot higher before falling back. It was clear he didn't put enough Chakra into it. Sasuke was quite the opposite. He put too much Chakra and was shot off the tree, breaking some of the bark.

I then saw it as my turn and walked to the tree. Before I tried to walk up it, I let my eyes wander up. It's tall and mighty structure looked over me like an intimidation act. It didn't work. I backed up a step before taking a running start.

I could feel the eyes of my teammates, but it didn't stop me. With the kunai in my right hand, I went up as far as I could muster. Once my every depleted, I stopped the kunai against the bark and pushed myself into a backflip off the bark.

Landing in a squatting position, I looked up at my mark. It was a good fifteen feet up the tree. I felt accomplished and smiled. After standing straight up, I looked toward Naruto. He had a proud and determined look into his beautiful eyes.

☆Naruto's P.O.V.☆

Baby was strong. I was proud, but I had to be stronger. I had to protect her. I love her and could bare if she got hurt with me there do something.

I looked back to my tree that was coated in marks the were not far enough off the ground. I don't care how many hours I must train. Baby must be safe in my arms.

I'll train till I can no longer walk if that means she can come to me for safety...

I love her way too much to let a hair on her head be damaged. And I mean it...
