         Our last training session ended with Sasuke and Naruto stumbling into the kitchen during dinner time while looking half dead. It filled me with joy to know both boys had finally overcome their current obstacles. It was now early morning and I had just woken up.

         From what Kakashi said at the end of dinner last night, the plan for today would be for the whole team to go with Tazuna to the bridge and watch over him while he and his men worked. I climbed out of bed at 7 o'clock. I had returned at six in the morning with little difficulty and laid in peaceful silence.

         Creeping down the stairs, that had a creaky third step, I listened to the sounds of cooking coming from the kitchen. Pots and pans clanged as Tsunami made breakfast with I was guessing Sakura as she had left bed a little after 6:30 and didn’t return. When I got there, Kakashi was sitting at the table reading his horrid book while Sakura and Tsunami danced around the kitchen, making a large breakfast for us all.

      “Do you two need any help?” I asked suddenly and watch as everyone in the room jumped. “I didn’t hear you come in, Baby,” Sakura said with a slight giggle and beckoned me over to join her in making rice. For the rest of the morning, I could feel Kakashi’s thoughtful stare but didn’t comment on it. Eventually, Sasuke made his way into the room, much louder than I, and sat down across from Kakashi. Tiredness was sip till on his face.

      “Good morning, Sasuke,” Sakura said as she placed a fresh bowl of steamed rice, miso soup, and a piece of grilled salmon in front of his. With a nod of thanks and a small smile, Sasuke dug in. I placed the same food in front of Kakashi and watched him place his book down for the first time since I entered the room. Breakfast went on quietly with small conversations. Tazuna and Inari eventually stumbled in and let Tsunami make their food. The only one who wasn’t showing up, even by the end of breakfast, was Naruto. His absence made the atmosphere unnaturally quiet.

       “Where’s Naruto?” I asked and followed the rest of my team and Tazuna out the front door. “He was exhausted and slept in today. I’m sure he’ll join us later. He knows where we’ll be,” Kakashi said half-heartedly and continued to read his book as we walked to the bridge.

      I was fine with Naruto getting more sleep. If anything, it was good for him, but something unnerved me to no end. I didn’t know whether I should go with my team or stay with Naruto. Although, something told me that an unfortunate event was going to occur in one place or the other, no matter which I choose to do.

++++

      The bridge was bare of any life, the air was quiet and tense, and I couldn’t see more than a foot in front of me with as much fog was in the area. At the setting, every one of Team 7 tensed up and Kakashi lead us feeling to find the problem. The first thing we saw was a body. Rushing ahead of the others even with Kakashi’s warning, I went to investigate the corpse. The first sign of good news was the movement the man’s chest was made. He wasn’t a corpse at all, but instead unconscious.

      I inherited before standing up to observe my surroundings. My team had formed a protective circle around Tuzana, each observing as well. Movement. Going with my evil instincts, I let my eyes drift where they wanted too and indeed saw slight and quick movement. A senbon needle broke its way through the fog and was aim directly for my eyes. I harden and awoken my faceplates in instinct. The senbon needle was now in view of my teammates and cause panic to arise in my sensei.

      “Baby! Move!” Kakashi called and gained everyone’s attention. I didn’t do what he said and let the small metal needle bounce my more durable metal face. Sakura gasped while Sasuke smirked. Kakashi looked suspicious. I chuckled and squared down to pick the senbon needle off the ground. “I think you lost something,” I said snakily before launching it back to the hunter ninja that threw it.

      Out of the fog stalked Zabuza, looking as undead as usual, and his hunter ninja companion. “That’s some pretty tough skin you have there” Zabuza grunted with a slight smile. My ruby red lips quirked up and I spoke. “It’s quirky, really.” Kakashi walked up to me and watched Zabuza intently. “We won’t let you get the bridge builder,” I said and got into a fighting stance. The hunter ninja copied me. I looked to Kakashi for conformation while the hunter ninja did the same the Zabuza. They both nodded.

      The hunter ninja launched towards me before I could more, senbon at the ready, but I was faster. Appearing behind them, I slammed my slightly metalized foot into their head. It sent the hunter ninja back onto the ground. The fight only continued from there. Eventually, the hunter ninja was pushed too far and activated their Kaki Genki. Sasuke noticed and pushed me out of the way before the large glass dome was surrounding the two. I wanted to help Sasuke escape, but he told me to go help Kakashi and that he could handle himself.

      I don’t believe him, but his stubborn nature left me with no choice. Sakura was guarding Tazuna while Kakashi was fighting Zabuza and his water clones. A water clone had been stalking up behind Kakashi and was about to strike him in the back before I crushed it with a hard punch to the face. Kakashi and Zabuza heard the falling of the water and turned their attention to me.

      “Can you take on two of us?” I asked arrogantly which caused a laugh from Zabuza. “Please,” he replied back, “it will be a piece of cake.”

      “I’ll hold you to that.”
