Chapter 23- Monsters

♡Baby's P.O.V.♡

         Each of my teammates was fighting their own battle. Sakura was on guard, Sasuke was in the ice dome with the hunter ninja, and Kakashi and I were focusing our attention on Zabuza. The bandaged man was flailing kunai knives in Kakashi while trying to distract me with water clones. It wasn’t working.

      Each water clone took one powered hit from my metalized fist before melting away and letting me focus on the next one coming at me. Zabuza was adamant on keeping me at bay so he could focus on Kakashi. What broke all of our concentration was a yelling coming from the fog somewhere. It didn’t take hard to realize who it was. Naruto, I thought happily as saw him shot into the glass dome Sasuke had difficulty escaping. 

     “You dolt!” I heard Sasuke’s anger and frustration. Sasuke and Naruto bickered lightly before finally realizing they could do nothing about their situation. As I was distracted with my boyfriend and close friend, I didn’t see one of Zabuza’s water clones sneak up and punch me in the face. With my attention back on my enemy, I saw Zabuza looking at me with a smirk. When I turned to see what he was so smug about. I was then met by a fist.   

      The solid-looking fist slammed into my cheek. My own surprise causes the power of the punch to be greater than u expected and sent my flying away. I heard my name being called in worry by Kakashi and Sakura. My body finally fell to a stop a few meters away. I sat up and pressed my hand on my cheek. It was dented. I was dented.

      Fury seemed through my bloodstream before I could control myself. I had no control as my gears turned and my metal components activated. I could feel the coldness of my metal hardening and solidify. I could feel the anger and crazed thoughts. I could feel her grabbing the reins from me and take control of my body. My metal legs stood straight and began taking slow heavy footsteps towards Zabuza, who still had that smug grin on his face. 

      All I wanted to do was wipe it off.

¥Kakashi’s P.O.V.¥

         She stood stiff and attentive. Baby was stalking towards us. The atmosphere darkened and became heavier the closer the young red-haired girl came. I turned my attention to Zabuza, who’s smug grin slowly began to disappear. It caused me to grow my own smirk. “You suddenly scared of a little girl?” I asked arrogantly. Zabuza’s eyes were now wide open with his fingers pointing towards Baby.

      “That is not a little girl.”

      My grey eyes drifted back to the small red-haired girl who wasn’t the same as I last saw her. Her red hair had fallen from the pigtails when she was thrown and her eyes were now a cold, crystal blue. Her right cheek was pushed in and her red lipstick was smudged. It caused her normal sweet smile to look crazed and dangerous. 

       Baby had gotten close enough now I could see what Zabuza was really scared of. Her face wasn’t only crazed, but moving abnormally. Lines made themselves prominent, dividing her face into spearheaded plates that all moved at different intervals. She didn’t look human but like a humanoid monster. 

      “You dented me…” her voice was cold and manipulative. It sounded sweet with hidden killer intent. The air got thicker and thicker with every passing second. I wasn’t the only one who noticed. 

       The air was suffocating. It broke. As so did two others. A flare of string chakra burst through the confinement of the ice mirror prison surrounding Sasuke and Naruto. The Nine Tails! I panicked but couldn't do anything. When the chakra appeared so did a large and terrifying amount of killer intent. 

     From the dome and the girl in front of me, you could hear the same malicious words.

      “I’LL KILL YOU!”

%3rd Person P.O.V.%

      The two children were more alike than most realize. While the blonde boy harbored a demon, the ginger was the demon herself. Both were misunderstood. Both were mistreated. Both were dangerous when angered. 

      The Kyuubi’s chakra swarmed like an angry storm around Naruto as his emotions got the best of him. In his mind, Sasuke was dead and never coming back. The ravenette was only unconscious, but the precision of Haku’s senbon needle made it look as if he was dead. The thought of losing a close friend, rival, and teammate was too hard on the innocent blonde. His emotions could handle it so his mind descended into the Kyuubi’s pits of rage.

      Her face twitched frantically as her emotions shut down and the bloodlust took control. Her eyes shined insanely once the blue color had swallowed the emerald green whole. Baby’s grasp on her metal controls was slipping more and more by the second until she fell unconscious to her own mind. The demon, hungry for revenge and blood, held the reins and was preparing to tear the one who hurt her apart. The demon was vengeful and ready to kill anyone who got in its way. 

      Naruto launched forward and punch the ice mirror. With the keen sense, the Kyuubi influenced Naruto found Haku’s placement before launching into another attack. The feline looking boy fell from his protection and into the grasps of a demon. Haku’s didn’t down though. 

      Zabuza backed away from the monster Baby had become. It was like nothing he had ever seen before, and Zabuza was sure that wasn’t possible before. What almost sent him running in fear, which he thought was also impossible, was when the young girl's face shot open with an ear-deafening screech. Tentacles made of wires and metal shot out of her back and launched towards the grown man. At the end of the tentacles were claws sharp enough to rip the burly man to shreds. And it almost did. 

      What stopped the monster out appendage from tearing into Zabuza’s flesh was a body. Haku’s. His mask was now broken and off, showing the pretty girl Baby and Naruto had encountered the day before. A second conscience fought the demon. 

      Haku had sensed that his master and, what he considered to be, friend was in danger. Haku had sworn his life to protecting Zabuza and he would live and die by that oath. Now Haku’s stood as protection in front of Zabuza with the sharp appendage piercing is the abdomen. Blood seeped into his clothes and from his mouth. He was dying. He knew that and it was okay. He had saved Zabuza. 

      Kakashi watched in astonishment at the Monster the Baby had become. Naruto was gaining control was watching from the sidelines as his girlfriend wreaked havoc. Sasuke was still conscious. Sakura was still standing guard. Everyone's eyes were focused on the dying boy and angry girl. Next, they all turned their attention to the squelching noise as the demon pushed the appendage out the other side of Haku’s and resting it in Zabuza’s stomach. 

      She was going to kill them. Kill all of them. 

      Kill… 

     “Baby!” A higher-pitched and boyish voice called out. Another push from the subconscious being. “Fight it! You are not this monster!” Another push. “Please! I love you too much to lose you to that demon?” Another, stronger, push. 

      “FIGHT IT!” 

      Multiple voices rang out at that time. A finally push. 

     The cold blue eyes faded back into its cheerful green, the tentacles retracted from the belated and bloodied bodies and into the young girls back, and her crazed expression calmed. Baby’s metal body turned softer before her legs gave way. Naruto felt adrenaline course through his veins as his love fell to the floor. He raced to catch her, the previous events forgotten. 

      “Stay away from her Naruto!” Sakura’s panicked voice sounded out but she made no move to stop the blonde from holding Baby in his arms. Naruto didn’t care that his girlfriend just had metal tentacles coming from her back or stabbed two people. 

      All Naruto worried about was the fact that Baby was herself again. The one he loved more than life.
