-Two days later-Waverly laid on her bedroom floor starring at the ceiling. Her eyes became a glossy hazel under the sheen of tears that coated them, but she allowed the tears to flow without pause.
Waverly's heard a quiet knock on her door but ignored it thinking it was Wynonna trying to make peace again. She heard another knock on her door; it was louder and faster this time.
Getting frustrated with the on going knocking, puffy eyed Waverly got up from the floor to open the door.
"Nicole?" Waverly sniffed while she looked at Nicole standing awkwardly in the door way.
"Waverly, Wynonna told me what happened. Are you okay?" Nicole asked gently and kindly while following Waverly deeper into her room.
Without realization Waverly cried into Nicole's arms. The ginger wrapped her arms around Waverly's trembling shoulders, pulling her closer and gently while rubbing her back.
"It's going to be okay, I promise." Nicole reassured, whispering into Waverly's ear.
Despite the heaviness in Waverly's stomach, it fluttered at the feeling of Nicole's body pressed against hers. She sunk into the warmth of Nicole's arms, appreciative of the simple gesture. Nicole's touch made the room warmer somehow, her future within its walls seeming a little less bleak.
"How do you know?" Waverly asked while she pulled away from the hug to look at Nicole.
"I just do," Nicole murmured, thumbing a lonely tear off of Waverly's cheek. After a few moments of silence Nicole spoke, "Hey, wanna go on that trip you were talking about, not that long ago?"
"Now?"
"Yeah, you can get away from all this for a few days."
"O-okay.." Waverly ran a hand through her own hair.
"I'm going to get my stuff, be ready in a half-hour."
"Okay..." Waverly repeated.
Nicole started walking out the room until she heard Waverly's sweet voice say, "Wait Nicole!"
The girl turned around, "Mm?"
"What about..the... Uhh .. The Ghost River Triangle," Waverly's wavered, not really sure what she was trying to say. The fact that she could possibly be half Revenant scared her to death.
Nicole instantly knew what Waverly was talking about. Wynonna told Nicole everything she needed to know about Purgatory while Waverly was in the hospital. The cop walked closer to Waverly, "Waves, I will be by your side. We will go through this together, I promise."
Waverly nodded, still feeling unsure.
Nicole moved a brunette piece of hair out of Waverly's face making her blush, "I'll see you soon."
--------------
"Hey Wynonna?" Waverly walked near Wynonna but making sure to not get too close.
"Hi! Waverly! What's up?" Wynonna asked, obviously over excited that Waverly was talking to her again.
"Me and Nicole are going to Maine for a couple days."
