Nicole rang the doorbell. The doorbell was shrill and it jangled her nerves. The ginger could hear footsteps come closer and closer to the door.

Waverly nodded at Nicole "You've got this." The girl put her hand on Nicole's back.

Soon enough Ncole heard the door creak open. "Hello?" A teenage girl said leaning on the door frame while smacking gum in her mouth. The girl had long blond hair that hung down over her shoulders, front, and back. She had blue eyes and her lips were full and sort of pouted when she wasn't smiling. When she did, her teeth were evenly distributed and as white as any new fallen snow. She was wearing faded jeans and a black crop top.

Waverly and Nicole both gave each other curious looks. "Who are you?" Nicole asked very confused.

"I'm Ashly," the teenage girl said looking bored. "Who are you guys?" Ashly asked still leaning on the door.

Nicole was surprised she answered the question. "I'm Nicole Haught," Nicole introduced her self, "and this is Waverly." She finished.

"You related to Nancy?" Ashly said lazily.

"Yeah, I'm her daughter."

"Huh? She never said anything about having a daughter."

"Thought so.." Nicole rolled her eyes.

"Well since you're here I'm gonna go.. Thank god Nancy already payed me." The girl walked inside to grab her stuff not really caring if Nicole was lying or not (which she wasn't).

"Should we go inside?" Waverly asked Nicole, sliding her small hand in Nicole's.

"Yeah, I guess." Nicole accepted Waverlys hand as they walked inside. With every step Nicole's heart beat a little faster.

"So Felix is taking a nap right now, but he's bound to wake up any moment." The girl said putting her purse on her shoulder.

"Felix?" Waverly never heard of this name before.

"My step brother." Nicole spoke quietly. Everyday since the phone call Nicole couldn't stop thinking about her stepbrother. But Nicole was so fed up about seeing her mom Felix brushed her mind.

"Alright, see ya." Ashly left the house closing the door behind her.

The ginger looked around the entry way, there were polished wooden floors and a graceful banister that curved up. Nicole walked into the living room.
The girls eyes slowly adjusted to the bright white lights in the room. The cop looked to her left and found a large dining table, with several chairs around it, a small closet with lots of dishes and glasses behind it, and several mirrors on the sides of the sort-of-seperate room. Near the middle of the living room she saw three large, red sofas forming a U letter with a rather low table in front of them, with nothing but a large vase with three beautiful roses sticking out, in front of the sofas, Nicole found a rather big T.V stand with two units on each side. The units has several different animal sculptures on them. Nicole couldn't see really well from the distance but she could make out a tiger, a wolf, a horse and what Nicole thought was a gazelle.

The red head looked over her shoulder and spotted several photo frames all over the wall, pictures of her mom, stepdad, and stepbrother and some friends, along with several framed awards and certificates. On her other side she spotted endless shelves of shelves, coating the walls, filled with books. Many of these books were obviously special editions or collection items, and some looked at least a decade or so older than Nicole. Several lit candles were hung on the sides and their plates were covered with dried wax. Nicole looked down and saw why she was freezing, no carpets covered the wooden floor, yet somehow no matter how modest the living room was, it gave Nicole an uncomfortable feeling.
