Aysha walked down the stairs to see Ahmad roaming about the kitchen about to prepare something, for a minute her thought drifted to her mom.

Her mom would have her head on a platter if she walked in and saw Ahmad cooking, she will smack her and then sit her down giving her lectures about the proper Hausa wives.

Aysha knew she was not the perfect wife, just like she knew that she need to change but addiction is not something you can change in a day.

She was a workaholic right before her marriage, she couldn't just stop after her marriage, she can't.

"Who was at the door?" She asked as she sat down on the dining chair and watched him make something that looked like toasted bread.

"Someone I don't really want to talk about but I know I have too, it was Mubarak." Aysha looked up surprised.

"Mubarak, what the hell was he doing here, he's not even close to you." She asked and it was obvious in her voice that she detest the guy.

"Well he was just been a nuisance nothing much, now come on eat or you'll be late to work." He moved the toasted bread to her and a hot cup of tea.

"Thank you." She muttered before diving in, a slight feeling of guilt passed through her but she shrugged it off and continue eating.

After she was done, she picked up the plates and washed them.

"When is your shift?" She asked as she adjusted her veil.

"I'm the boss baby, I don't have shifts." He puffed up his chest with pride and Aysha rolled her eyes.

"I'm coming back early so we can go visit my mom, is that okay?" She asked.

"Of course baby, come back early." He moved to kiss her on the cheeks and she left.

He stood up too and proceeded to get ready to go to work.

FEW HOURS LATER,they were on their way to Aysha's father house.

Ahmad packed the car on the sideway and turned around to open Aysha's door.

They made their way inside where they saw Aysha's mother sitting on the couch watching Islamic channel.

With a Salaam, she noticed them and a bright smile made it way to her aging face.

Ahmad knelt down and greeted her while Aysha ran to hug her mom, she never realised how much she missed her until that moment.

"I miss you so much mama." She gripped her harder with tears rolling down her eyes and that moment Ahmad heart clenched.

Was he not treating her right that she's crying?

Or didn't she love him again?

But then the rational part of him reminded him that she's her mom, and naturally girls are emotionally closer to their mother.

"My children, how are you all?" She asked as she motioned for then to sit down.

"We're fine, mama we just wanted to visit you." Ahmad replies, shyly looking down.

Mama smiled and beckoned Aysha with her to the kitchen.

"Take the drinks out to him and come back let's talk." Mama ordered and Aysha did exactly as she said.

She opened his drink and poured it into a glass cup, gave it to him and made her way back into the kitchen.

"I'm going to keep this brief cause I want you to go home early, the roads are not safe and the go slow is too much at night, Aysha Allah knows I tried my best to teach you what's right and what's wrong, and I hope you are still doing things the way I taught you, I hope you're loving your husband as I told you too. Obey him and care for him, he's your pathway to Jannah now habibty, don't make him regret marrying you, hope your listening?"

Aysha nodded indicating yes.

"Good now go, Allah Hafiz."

With one last hug, they made their way outside and Ahmad told the mom bye and they left.
