Aysha sits on the bed, her face covered with a veil with her friends Dina, Noor and Halima.
"Amarya open the face please" Ibrahim the best man tease.
It's a tradition of the hausa to pay before the bride will open her face or speak to the husband, the money is paid to her friends by the groom friends.
"Do you guys think we are cheap or something, better pay up" Noor chuckle, but with a serious expression.
"Haba pity us please, two million is a huge amount of money" Ibrahim speaks again.
"You guys are wasting our time, are you paying or not, or should we proceed with our sleep over?" Dina tease making Ahmad to stiffen up, and moving over to hit Hassan, one of his friends with his legs.
"Ouch , okay we will you give you guys five thousand each" Hassan speak, glaring at Ahmad and the latter sheepishly smile.
"Hmm, I can see you guys are not ready, let's sleep girls" Halima says and they all turn to lie down making Ahmad to hit Ibrahim on the leg.
"Ow okay fine one point five million last price" Ibrahim bargain.
"Are we selling something?, One point eight million" Noor replied back and Ibrahim pulls out the money and give them .
Noor collects it, kiss it and then stuff it inside her bag.
"Toh amarya, mun wuce Allah ya bada zaman lafiya" Halima prays and they all chorus ameen
"Groom hah, look at how you are glaring at us, don't worry we are going now, may Allah bestow his mercy and blessings on you both, Ameen".
They all left leaving Ahmad and his beautiful bride.
"Amarya ta, bakya laifi ko kin kashe in masu gida" Ahmad praise, making Aysha to turn crimson red.
"its just a saying" Aysha murmur so low that Ahmad almost miss it.
"Oh i mean it, let's stand up and pray and thank the almighty for showing us this beautiful day" Ahmad say and they stand up, Aysha remove the veil from her face making Ahmad gape as if he have never seen her before.
"Masha Allah, what did I do to deserve this beautiful lady as a wife? " he complements making Aysha blush.
"I thank Allah for also giving me a wonderful man as a husband, i believe I am the lucky one" Aysha whispers, head caste to the floor.
"We are both lucky Alhamdullilah" he conclude and they both move to the bathroom to perform the ablution.
They move to the bathroom. Aysha using the room and Ahmad going downstairs and perform the wudu (ablution) and pray two rakaah's, thanking the creator for leaving them alive to witness such day and later move to the parlour to eat cause they are both hungry.
Ahmad refuse to let Aysha feed her self, he pick up the spoon and feed her the chicken he brought a while ago, he feed her, eagerly waiting for her to look up and lock eyes with him but she refuse, chewing so slowly, a tortoise is faster than her.
Aysha feels Ahmad gaze but she feels too shy to look up, she feels overwhelmed, the new found love she feels for Ahmad is too much.
"Remember the first day we met, i was staring at you when you walked in with your dad, God, you were and still are the most beautiful girl I have ever seen" Ahmad starts after they finish eating the chicken, they are just sipping orange juice now.
