POV: Cameron

I lay my head on the side of the hospital bed with a thump.

It's been a day since the crash.

Neither Nash nor Sam have woken from their death like slumber.

Sydney was currently with Sam in her room while I was with Nash.

Both of their sets of parents were also in the rooms. It was kind of awkward because both were divorced.

They told the doctors that me and Sydney were their siblings so that they would let us stay during visiting hours.

Their other siblings, however, had to go to relatives houses because they couldn't handle it. Except for Nash's older brother, he was here as well.

I stared at Nash's face intently, watching for any sign of life.

But there was none.

He looked as if he had fallen asleep.

He looked..... Peaceful.

I sighed and closed my eyes tightly. I bowed my head down so that my forehead was leaning on the bed again.

Suddenly I felt something stir in the bed.

I'm pretty sure I got whiplash from how fast I looked up, my heart thudding in my throat.

"Nash?" I asked hesitantly.

I could sense his parents standing beside me inclining towards him.

Then his eyes snap open and his blue orbs are revealed.

POV: Sydney

I brush away my tears silently as I continue to stare intently at the still body.

I'm tired of crying.

I want to be happy again.

But I can't. She's gone and probably never coming back.

I hear a sniffle behind me and I roll my eyes.

It was Sam's mom. Sitting in one of the 3 chairs in the room.

In the opposite corner was Sam's dad. Unlike her mom, he kept a stoic expression. The only give away was the pain that was clear in his eyes.

I hear his phone vibrate for the umpteenth time as he quickly answers and sighs.

"I can't stay. There is an emergency at work." He said almost silently as he stood up and walked out of the room, phone to his ear.

"I should get back to the other two.." Her mom said blandly as she too walked out of the room, running her hand through her short, frizzyred hair.

I lay my head on the bar of the bed and shut my eyes.

The repetitive beeping of the heart monitor was the only thing that kept me awake.

POV: Nash

My eyes snap open and my breath labored and shallow.

I looked around the room wide eyed and I see my mom and dad standing over me and Cameron sitting right beside my bed with hopeful eyes.

"Nash?" He asked sounding relieved.

"Where's Sam?" Was the first thing that came out of my mouth.

I saw the disappointment flash in my mother's eyes and a bit of hurt. My father immediately had a look of sorrow on his face.

"She's in a coma." Cameron said calmly, because neither of my parents were speaking.

Just like she told me.

"When can I go see her?" I asked swallowing hard.

"Honey, you do realize your leg is broken, right?" My mother said grimacing.

I look down at my uncovered leg and see that it is indeed in a cast from the knee down.

I shrugged at her carelessly and started to unravel myself from the blankets, tubes, and wires.

"Nash what are you doing?" My mom said worriedly as she put my hands on my chest to keep me down.

"I need to see her." I said dismissively before I pushed her hand away and hopped off the bed, bare feet touching the ground.

I run, limping is more accurate, out of the room and stop farther down the hall.

I hear someone come up beside me and I prepare myself to be yelled at by a doctor or nurse. But I heard nothing. I turned to find Cameron smirking at me.

"So you escape from your hospital room and you stop in the middle of the hall? Not smart man." He laughed depressed.

"I didn't think it through... I don't know where her room was anyways.." I said ashamed and staring at my feet.

"Well I do. So I'll take you, but don't tell your parents I did so. They'll kill me." Cameron chuckled.

I nodded quickly and followed him down the hall.

When we finally got to the room I stopped outside the door and took a deep breath before stepping into the room.

My breath was immediately whisked out of me.

She looked awful.

Like she had been run over and dragged across the cement.

I felt tears threaten I spill over in my eyes.

Sydney was sat in front of the bed with her head bowed, resting on the bar. Her back rose and fell slowly, clearly she was asleep.

Cameron walked up behind her and gently laid a hand on her back.

She jolted and looked at him in surprise, but got over it quickly and wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him into a hug, tears already running down her face.

I looked away quickly.

This was my fault.

I did this to her.

I loved her and this is what I get in return.
