7. So Close... Yet...

The whole crew of The House of Us (THoU) is working hard for the first lunch. This will mark the beginning of their first venture to the catering for corporate. THoU have cater for a few functions before this, but this is by far the largest event they have manage.

Kit is barking orders in the kitchen. It was a bit hectic, even for him, as the kitchen they are using for the first lunch and the next consecutive meal was LGT. Inc. cafeteria's kitchen. Thank God he has almost all of his crew there, so everyone pretty much knows what to do. But working in an unknown kitchen sure slows them down by a bit.

Mew is back at the restaurant after prepping the ingredients this morning. He will be in charge in handling the restaurant while Kit will oversee the progress for the first lunch.

Kit hope that everything will be okay. He has gotten the conformation from LGT Inc., saying that they don't need to tweak any menu. They give him full power over menu selection. He loves it. Less work for him.

The extra servers they hired are preparing the dining hall, making sure every seat is in place, every napkin is white and crisp and every tableware is squeaky clean.

Meanwhile, Ming is waiting at the waiting room, overseeing the meet, of LGT and DCP via his wireless. He looks serious, as if he was concentrating hard on the meet. But deep down in his heart, he was giddy with the prospect of meeting his angel again.

The meet was adjourned at twelve thirty. The delegates were invited to refresh themselves before heading to dining hall for the first lunch at one. They were also informed that the VP of DCP Corps. will also be attending the first lunch.

The two men is getting nearer and nearer to each other. They once used to be separated by miles, but now they literary in the same building. One man is itching to rush toward the other, while the other have no idea.

Kit's POV

The foods are all prepared. The tom yum is simmering on the stove, the steamed fish is almost ready and the white rice have was cooked to perfection. Some other side dish like Thai chicken salad and chicken basil are almost ready too. There are only a few more vegetarian dish that need to be prepared and those are easy.

Phew... We almost didn't make it. Who knows that my local vendor will have a mishap today with my orders, thus resulting in less ingredients. I have to tweak a few stuff and change a few menus. Thank God we have back up menus.

Since the motto of THoU was serving the authentic Thai cuisines with the freshest ingredients available, it was a habit for them to not keep any stock in store. They would have to get delivery for each stock every day to the restaurant. While some ingredients, he will get it by himself.

Anyway... it was done. Everything was ready. The head server had informed me that the delegates have start to enter the hall.

"Okay guys, final check on your station. Servers, as soon as all of them are seated, start with the entrée."

"Yes, chef."

I keep myself busy. We need to prepare for the dessert now. Red rubies. One of the most iconic dessert in Thai cuisines. The water chestnuts have already been diced and dyed in red. My crew is coating them with tapioca flour and I'm in the process of making the coconut milk gravy.

"Boss, Mew is calling."

One of my crew, Mick, that is situated outside the kitchen comes running to me with his phone. I usually wouldn't bring my phone to the kitchen. I clean my hand with the towel on my shoulder before taking the phone.
