17. If Only We Have Met Properly

Ming's POV

My heart drops a beat the moment I saw they are carrying my angel away. I staggered back at the entrance, almost colliding with a man.

"Hey, you okay?"

I didn't realize I've been holding my breath. As I let it out, I nod a little, glancing at him. He is the same person that lead these paramedics in. He turns away after seeing that I'm okay but I unconsciously grab his sleeve.

"Is he okay?"

He looks back at me, questioning silently. But his features reveal no emotion.

"You knew him?" He asked me verbally, when I didn't respond.

I gulp down, clearing lumps of fear from my heart.

"He's the... owner of this restaurant, right?"

"He is... okay. Just a dizzy spell."

I can sense he is lying to me. Diverted eye balls, defensive body gesture. I didn't realize that I'm still holding onto his sleeve when he has to forcefully tug it.

I let him leave, letting him enter the ambulance and drove away, before I rush to my car, chasing them from behind.

My mind is a jumbled mess. I can't think straight. I ran pass the red light so many time chasing the ambulance, afraid that if I let it go from my sight I might lose my angel forever.

What is wrong with him? Is he sick? The man is clearly lying to me. Why? Why did he have to do that? What happen to my angel?

I slam the break hard as soon as the ambulance stop. I glance around, realizing that this is not the emergency entrance. The ambulance stops at the rear entrance and the man lead the paramedics to bring my angel in.

"Sir, you can't park here. Please move your car."

I was stop by a guard as soon as I step out of my car, trying to chase them. I tried to explain that I'm following the ambulance but he insists that I move my car.

Worried about my angel, I throw my car keys at him and dash in the hospital. I don't care much. I need to see my angel now.

The guard was startled by Ming's act. He stunned for a while before he started to make a move, trying to chase him. But before he can, he was stop by a black clad man.

"I apologize on behalf of my master. I will move the car now."

As polite as the man sound to the guard, he can't help but shiver at the dark and domineering aura that shroud the black clad man. Trembling, he passed Ming's car key to the man's open palm.

The black clad man bows a little before swiftly enters the car and drove off. The guard stood still, until his walkie-talkie beep, jolting him from reverie.

Meanwhile, Ming is trying to find his angel. He can't seem to get a glimpse of him anywhere. He tries to asked for him at the nurse station but they have no information about any patient by the name Innochtar there.

Ming feel baffled by this. He clearly saw how his angel was wheel in this hospital just moment before. He then remembers the man from before, the one who lead the paramedics. Assuming he is the doctor, he tries to describe him to the nurses, trying to find him.

"Oh... do you mean Doctor Baramee? If I'm not mistaken he is on duty today. Do you need me to lead you to him?"

The petite nurse that response to Ming is clearly flirting with him. If this was before his encounter with a certain angle, Ming would surely appreciate the gesture. But now, his jumbled mind can only contain one thing. One person. One name.

Kit. His angel.

"No, just direct me to where I can find him."

"He supposed to be at the thirteenth floor, his office is there, next to the maternity ward."

Ming rush to the elevator only to find it riding slowly from the top. He heads to the emergency staircase, taking two step at a time, climbing up, all the way to the thirteenth floor. He arrived half an hour later. Without stopping to catch his breath, he maniacally searches for Beam's office.

After a fruitless attempt, he sat down at one of the waiting chair near a deserted hallway. He can't think anymore. He has no idea where is his angel. He can't think why his angel is not even registered as a patient there when he is clearly admitted there.

His mind started to wonder to the most unforgiving possibilities. He can feel his sanity is on the verge of breaking down. Ming almost let out a scream when he heard something.

"Pha, you have arrived?.... Yes, I have Kit with me. He fainted at the restaurant.... He.... come first, I'll tell you later."

Beam hung up his phone call with Phana, passing in front of Ming and head straight to the elevator. Ming can't believe it, the person he so desperately tries to find have just emerge in front of him. He follows Beam silently, riding the elevator with him, always standing behind, so he wouldn't notice.

He follows Beam to the top most floor, the VIP floor. Beam did throw him a glance but Ming swiftly cover up his face, afraid that the doctor will recognise him from their encounter at the restaurant. He stops following as Beam turn to a certain hallway, then sneaking on him from behind.

Ming notice that the doctor enters a room at the end of the hallway. He slowly approaches the room but he can't sneak a peek inside without alerting the doctor. He glances at the name in front it the room. His heart stops a beat.

Kitty.

He stands there, unmoved for a while. He knows he have found his angel. He does know that his angel's friends would occasionally call him Kitty. But what he can't understand is that why the secrecy.

He heard rushed footsteps nearing the room. He hides behind the next hallway, peeping. He saw two man, one with a large and tall build, with worried expression, tries to comfort the second man, a small and petite young man, who is crying his eyes out. They both enters the room, leaving Ming frowning in confusion.

Not a moment later Ming saw the large man come out with the doctor. They leave, leaving Ming to contemplating whether he can get in or not. He realize that the young petite is still inside.

Some moments later a group of men and women rush to the room as well. Ming knows some of them. He has noticed a few of them from the restaurant. He can't handle it anymore; he wants to meet with his angel now.

But with all these people around, he simply can't.

As much as he wants to stake his claim on his angel, he knows he have to meet with him properly. He despises himself for hiding for so long. If he knows something like this would happen, he would have meet with his angel, properly, the moment he steps into this country.

If only he has been brave enough to meet him.

If only he has directly say his purpose, without the grandiose plan.

If only... He was properly his.
