50. The War Begins: Preparation

Kit's POV

The dinner is a success!

Apart from our childish act toward our loves one, everything is fine. Thank goodness that my nauseousness only comes in effect when I come in contact with seafood or when I'm experiencing a massive emotional attack, so cooking meat-only dinner is breezy to me.

Not to mention, I only need to catch a whiff of my devil's scent whenever I'm feeling nauseous. That is enough to calm my inner turmoil.

Now... let's get down to business.

"Forth. Beam told me you knew. How bad it is? On the scale of ten?"

As soon as they make themselves comfortable at the living room, I shoot out the question. All of my friends understand what I'm asking, with the exception of Ming, who's by now sporting a confuse look on his face.

"On ten?" He asked me back while glancing Ming. "Can I say Hiroshima? Maybe... Just south of Pearl Habour?"

Man, this guy sense of humour is really off. I wonder how Beam is with him. Oh wait... scratch that. That friend of mine is a little wonky himself.

"That bad huh?"

I take another glance at my devil who's still look confused. Pushing out my smile to comfort him, I turn back toward my friends, stacking a claim.

"Don't worry. He's fine."

Don't worry. He's fine.

P' Kit seems so confident with his decision.

Yesterday, when P' Forth disclose what he knows about the Dachaipaya, I was trembling in fright the whole night. P' Pha have to comfort me in sleep, to make sure I don't have any nightmare. They are quite cruel in the underworld. Their hidden reputation runs deep over there.

I understand that P' Kit is the demon in disguise himself. P' Pha has told me about him. So... in a way they are compatible together.

But now they are facing their own families.

No matter how strong they both are, their centuries old families have the upper hand.

Not to mention, resources.

"Well, they certainly don't have us. We'll be the element of surprise."

I turn my attention back towards P' Forth. He's right. Their families don't know that they have us.

I know about P' Pha's family and I know about P' Beam normal upbringing. For them to be around P' Kit for so long, it would be impossible for his family to not  do any background sweep.

However... me and P' Forth?

P' Forth may be seen as an offshore engineer will multiple patent to his name. But he is, in reality, the third, albeit hidden, third son of the Thailand's President. He is hidden to the world as he would have to move stealthily in common ground when his father need something. He's being train from birth to live in the shadow.

As for me, I'm the heir to the number one financial powerhouse in South East Asia. Not many know about my existence since I live here with my mother's family, taking their last name. My father didn't want me to be a target so I've been kept away, far from the family business since birth. I started to operate the business remotely though, when my father fell ill when I was sixteen.

We are the hidden weapon that may turn the tide around.

"So... where is this island you are planning to go?"
