All of them rushed to me. Zeke has that smile again. That warm smile.

"Did you just do something? Because all of us just felt an unseen force push us, and it came from your  direction." Heather asked.

"I tried something from the book. I don't think it worked, though." I said.

"Well, now you know it did." Zeke says, "Girls, that was the only real spell you need to become an exorcist."

"So does that mean that Madeleine can train with us now?"

"No. That just means that her full potential can still be triggered. And as I told you, hers is still a bit unstable that's why even you felt the push."

"Wait, so normally we shouldn't have felt that?" Rebecca asked.

"Yup! It's only meant to be a slight push and meant for the soul. So, no human should feel that push directly."

"Umm, I'm not getting how it's supposed to work."

"Each of us has a soul, right? And that's covered by a thick layer of flesh and blood. So attacks meant for the soul should just be a tickle, unless certain conditions are met."

"And what are these certain conditions?" Heather asked.

"Well, for one, if the user has direct contact with the target like so." he explained as he put a hand on her shoulder, "Another condition is when the amplification is more than two hundred percent."

"So for an attack to the soul to be more than a tickle, we should be in an area where there is more than two hundred percent amplification, and one must have direct contact?"

"No. Only one of those is already enough." he said as he took his hand off of her.

"Are those the only conditions?" Crystal asked.

"As far as I know, yes. It's mainly because there are only few who can really grasp the concept of aiming for one's soul. The exorcist basic is the only soul attack in my arsenal."

"Is it that weak compared to other types?"

"If my understanding is correct, then I feel that a soul attack is the strongest type of attack there is. That's why they call the exorcist basic as the strongest, but also the weakest."

"Why is it called like that anyway?" Heather asked.

"It's what you use to push the demon back to his own plane. So without it, you're pretty much just a tool for battle. Not an exorcist."

"Then why wasn't this the first thing you taught us?"

"Because, even if I taught you this last, you'd still be able to do it. So you girls go back there until I tell you to stop. And you!" he says as he turns to me, "Get down from there."

"But how? I don't even know how I got up here."

"I helped you up. Now get down from there."

"Like I said, how?"

"Jump."

"Are you serious?! I can't jump from this height!"

"You were able to get up there!"

"With your help!"

"Fine! I'll help you. Just get down from there."

"Fine!" I say, "Catch!" I threw the book down and he caught and set it down. I took a deep breath and pushed myself off the rock. I closed my eyes and hoped for the best.

"You're not falling from a cliff. Why close your eyes?" he said. I opened my eyes and saw that I was in his arms.

"Liar! You said you'd help me. Put me down."
