"What did you see in your dream?" I asked.

"I was in a room full of severed body parts." Heather said as her body shivered. Crystal looked at her weirdly. "What? I'm not good with gory things."

"Hey guys!" a sleepy Rebecca greeted, "What's everyone doing up?"

"They were having nightmares." I said.

"What about you? Why are you up this late, kid?" Heather asked.

"Yeah. Did you have a nightmare too?" Crystal asked.

"Nope. More like, I didn't have a dream tonight. How about you Rebecca? Why're you up?"

"Same reason."

"Well, why don't we all just go back to sleep? It's unlikely that you guys'll have the same dream again, right?" I said.

"I don't know. I don't really feel like going back to sleep." Heather said.

"Yeah, me too." Rebecca said.

"How about you, Crystal?" I asked. She shook her head.

"That place is too scary." she said.

"Wait, what?"

"It's hard to explain what's in there."

"Is there a guy killing your entire family there?" Ashley's faint voice asked, surprising all of us. Heather's and Rebecca's eyes widened at her question.

"Yes, but that was only the first part." Crystal started.

"And then the next scene has a big guy with black arms, sharp, pointy fingers, and red eyes, right?" Ashley continued, "I had the same dream, but that wasn't the same dream you had last time, right?"

"How'd you know?" she asked as her eyes widened. Ashley shook her head.

"He told you didn't he?" I asked. She shook her head again.

"You can tell us. Come on, he wouldn't find out anyway." Heather said.

"I think he would." I said.

"Well, whatever! Come on, Ashley! Tell us what he told you." she insisted. Ashley looked at all of us, then let out a sigh.

"He told me that something was off, and that he'll see what it was. When he got back, he told me he couldn't do anything much, and that the cause for Crystal's condition was either a nightmare or a traumatic recall."

"That's it? How'd he know about that?" she asked.

"Um... I don't know. He just told me to watch for some unusual things."

"How d'you think he knew that?" Crystal asked.

"I think he read your mind."Heather said.

"I don't think he'll do that." I said.

"Of course, you'll take his side."

"What does that mean?"

"Oh nothing."

"Heather! Come on. Could you not be like that now?" Rebecca shouted, "Anyway, Madeleine, how do you know that he wouldn't do that?"

"Well, don't you think that he'd know what we can and can't do if he did read our minds? Besides, I don't think that he'll get anything from it."

"That's true, but, how do you explain what Ashley said earlier?"

"I-I don't know." I said. Heather scratched her head.

"Well, what do we do now?" Crystal asked, "It's not like we can just go back to sleep. I don't want to go back to that place."

"Yeah, and my body doesn't feel like it wants to go back to sleep either." Rebecca said.
