Their eyes widened. An overwhelming fear overcame me as those red eyes suddenly appeared in my mind. The tears overflowed and my whole body started to tremble.
"H-hey, what's wrong?" Crystal asked. My body's trembling too much I couldn't give an answer. I couldn't even look at her.
"Kid? Come on, let's go to the big room. You'll feel better if there're people around you." Heather said. Ashley embraced me again, my head on her shoulder.
"Let's go." she whispered. I tried to, but I couldn't move. They decided to carry me. I couldn't help but stare. I know they're there, but why do I feel so cold? Where are they? It's nothing but darkness all around me.
"So, what's up? What happened back there?" Rebecca asked making me jump back to reality.
"Uhh, what?"
"Well, she's talking now. That's a start." Heather commented.
"Hey there, Mad. What happened? You looked like you just saw a ghost." Crystal asked.
"I don't know. Ngh. My head hurts."
"Are you sure it's only your head, and not also your heart?" Rebecca joked.
"Enough with the jokes! Come on, kid. Something happened. What is it?" Heather demanded.
"Could you please stop riding her on this? She really doesn't know!" Ashley shouted before I could even say a word, "That's what Ezekiel told me, anyways." Heather scratched her head in annoyance.
"What else did he tell you?" Crystal asked.
"There really was someone there besides us." she said.
"What?!" Heather shouted as she started to pace around the room.
"Heather, calm down!" Crystal said, "It's been a rough time for all of us, especially for Madeleine."
"Oh great. She gets a headache and suddenly everyone takes her side! Great. Just great!" she said as she crossed her arms.
"No one's taking any sides, Heather!" Rebecca said, "You're being unreasonable!"
"Me? Unreasonable? What about you guys? Since the first day, you guys have already been on her side! Just because she wasn't able to do anything the first encounter."
"Heather! No one took sides, okay?" I said, "You isolated yourself. I did, too."
"Yeah? You're one to talk!"
"Heather!" Ashley said in a somewhat angry tone catching all of our attention, "Don't be such a coward. You know you're only scared because of what's happening around us right now."
"Did he tell you that as well?"
"Yes."
"So he did read my mind."
"He didn't have to! He told me you were as open as a book." she said. Heather's obviously taken aback as she stayed quiet for a while.
"Scared? Ha! Why should I even be scared?"
"You were scared that Madeleine will be stronger than you, and you're also scared because of what happened earlier. You knew that she would be a threat, but not this much. That's why when she was able to access her powers, you felt intimidated and envious. You like Zeke. We all know that. He told me that you'd eventually snap because you'd see her face everyday. He wanted that to happen that's why he didn't let you try out your weapon. He knew that if you finally let out those hidden emotions, you'd be able to focus more. He wanted the best for everyone." she stopped to cough, her voice almost cracking, "Yes, he... might not use the best methods but, he doesn't want any... of us... get killed." Her coughs kept her from talking anymore. A pained expression was on her face as she massageg her throat. I went over to her and patted her on the back.
