Important: I know it was previously mentioned that Abigail was a third year and Tom was a fourth....but i've decided to push it forward to accommodate the plot. Abigail/Sam/Cassie/Penny are fourth years, and Tom/Gabriel are fifth years.

...............................................

It was the first Quidditch game of the spring season. After a long, long winter, all of Hogwarts was in anticipation for the sport again.

No one, of course, was more concerned and excited than Gabriel.

"You got it?" He asked Abigail.

"Yeah." She answered, visibly nervous. Abigail was a decent seeker...but she knew she wasn't the best. No matter how hard she practiced, she always felt so distracted in front of the crowd. They expected her to win, and that hit hard on her nerves.

"Don't worry, Abi. You'll be the best, I know it. After all, I've been personally training you, haven't I?" Gabriel said, helping her put on her helmet.

Abigail took a deep breath, and walked out to the open field, where the crowd observed their every move.

They were playing the Ravenclaws today. The Ravenclaw seeker, Teddy Baker, was a short and muscular sixth year. He was one of the best seekers Hogwarts had ever seen, and Abigail became even more nervous.

"Ready. Set. Go!" The whistle gun blew into the air, and all brooms launched.

Abigail flew high above, so she could see track of the whole field. Teddy was nowhere to be seen.

"Another goal scored by the Gryffindors! Looks like you'd better try harder, Ravenclaws." The announcer yelled.

About half an hour into the game, the snitch made its first appearance. At once, Teddy began to trail it, followed by Abigail on his tails.  It disappeared again, but both were keeping a tight eye on the other.

Gryffindor was winning by fifty points, and the Gryffindor cheers were louder than ever.

The snitch makes another appearance. This time, Abigail dives for it first. However, Teddy was so incredibly fast. He caught up to her in no time. The crowd held its breath as they were neck to neck, diving for the fluttering snitch.

They flew over the Slytherin crowd, and Abigail noticed someone sitting there.

He was watching her.

She became distracted for a second. But that one second cost everything.

Teddy grabbed it in his hands, holding it up in victory.

The Ravenclaws erupted in unexpected victory. The Gryffindors, just a moment ago feeling that they had this victory in the bag, let out loud boos and groans.

Abigail dropped on the ground, feeling the weight of the entire crowd crash onto her thin shoulders.

Would Gabriel be mad again?

She sat there, hearing the disappointment from the crowd. She had let them down so hard.

Gabriel walks up to her, seeing the tears in her eyes. He sighed. He wanted to say something, but stopped himself. Instead, he helped her up, holding her by the arm.
