Loving you had consequences...

She would be his demise.
Or him hers.
Tom Riddle stood on the intersection of the cold winter street, watching an early snow fall quietly underneath the lamplight. He caught a snowflake in his hand. It did not melt.
Fate sent her to destroy him, to stop him from covering the light with his darkness.
Tom Riddle saw his reflection in the glass shop window, and closed his eyes. She was a part of his soul. She was his soul.
At the same time, ambition ruled him. He craved power. Since childhood, he threw everything aside to ascend the throne that had always awaited him. He was no longer content to be a boy. Or a man. He was destined to be a god.
She was an accident. She stumbled across his path, and no matter how he fast tried to run, he could never run from her.
In the glass, her reflection stared back at him, her doe eyes filled with tears. He reached out to touch her, but as soon as his hand hit the glass, her image disappeared into the cold night air.
Why?

He stood by her bed, watching her chest gently rise and fall in deep sleep.
She was so beautiful in her sleep.
He bit down his teeth.
His hands touched her skin, and he asked himself to be calm. To be unaffected.
They were cursed from the start. They were destined to destroy each other, and Tom Riddle knew it.
You're so close. So close to all you've ever wanted. So close.
Just one step closer.
He ran his fingers down her cheek, and reminisced a love he never deserved.
I'm sorry.
Fuck.
He pulled away, suddenly afraid of himself. He couldn't bring himself to do it. She was his Abigail, whom he swore to protect. Fated or not, prophecy or not, he couldn't bring himself to do it. He took one last look at her face in the moonlight and walked away.
She opened her eyes and saw his silhouette disappear out of the doorway. She knew he was here, but didn't know why.
"Tom?" She whispered, but he didn't turn his back.
Was it just a dream?
He heard her, and he stood there a moment before walking away.

Cassie sat with Penny, discontent.
"What's up with you?" Penny asked, taking a bit of her sandwich.
"I saw him with her again. I don't understand! Why is he still talking to her? I thought that they were done. I don't even know what happened with them, but I thought they were over."
Penny thought over it for a second.
"Have you thought about...I mean, if you're very serious about him...there are ways." Penny suggested, a thought creeping into her brain.
"What is it?" Cassie asked eagerly.
"Love potion. Not just any love potion. Amortenitia. Ever heard of it?"
