Abigail sat on the floor, shaking in her sobs.
Cassie's poisonous words rang in her brain.
"You're a cold bitch, Abigail."
Abigail looked into the mirror, and reached up to touch her face.
She had an undeniably beautiful face, one that beguiled all who saw it. Even those who hate her could not help but admire.
But how many lies have those heart-shaped lips told?
Like her mother, she had used her beauty as a weapon, and thus tarnished it. In the mirror, somehow, the image became distorted into ugliness, into horror. The image reflected back a cruel, harrowing smile. No, not even a smile, just a sinister droop of the lips.
She looked away.
The rational part of her wanted to find a way to make up for all the wrong she was done, to forget him completely, and to start anew. To find Gabe, and tell him how sorry she is. She would promise to truly love him, and be happy with him.
But alas, she was not rational.
In her mind, there was one thing, and one thing only. Was it true? Cassie's last, most cutting remark.
"I slept with...you know who..." rang in her ear, taunting her endlessly. If it was, how could Tom Riddle do that to her?
Nothing else suddenly mattered to her anymore. The idea drove her completely crazy.
The devil in her head overpowered her rationale, she got up, and opened the door. She had only one thing in her mind: find him.
He was sitting in the Slytherin common room, smoking a cigarette, carelessly playing cards with Rosier and Avery. The game did not interest him; nevertheless, he was winning.
She waited until a first year who knew the password showed up and opened it. Seeing the opportunity, she stepped into the Dungeon.
"I heard that someone got with Bella Brown last night. How was it, Tom? She's got a hell of a body, that one." Rosier teased. Tom Riddle rolled his eyes.
"She's really not as good as they say, you know." Tom Riddle replied nonchalantly.
Avery cleared his throat as he first saw her standing there.
"Aye, Tom, I think someone wants to talk to you." Rosier whistled. One sharp glare from Tom Riddle shut him down. Tom Riddle signaled for them to leave, and they immediately scrambled to leave the common room.
"What do you want?" He feigned coldness.
The words felt locked inside her lips. She hadn't seen him in a while, and he was more gorgeous than ever, with his hair overgrown now.
"I-Is it true?" She asked, her voice coming out small and high-pitched.
"What?"
"Cassie told me that...that you guys were together...is it true?" She asked. He thought about it for a second.
How he wanted to kiss her neck, to touch her in the places where no one else has touched, to hold her, to protect her, and to tell her that.....
But alas, he must keep his distance. He looked into her eyes, and saw that she was still in the abyss, that she still loved him.
But alas, he needed to kill this flame before it burned both of them alive.
He put on a cruel smile and beckoned her closer.
