Like father, like son...

Tom Riddle glanced at the headmaster's box. All the important figures were up there.

He should be there.

But instead, the spoiled brat Gabriel sat in his seat, his hands around Abigail.

But he will, he reminded himself.

One day, he will rise so far above all that none of this would ever matter.

The Game ended with victory for the Slytherins. The Slytherin's side erupted into explosive cheers.

Cassie could barely watch the game.

She felt sick to her stomach. Not just physically, but also emotionally. Seeing those two in front of everyone made her sick.

How could Abigail do this to her? All the while, she claims to be her friend still. How could-that bitch-gloat so openly in front of her.

It hurt Cassie so much. She carried his baby in her, yet Abigail was the one who got to sit next to him and be his princess.

Abigail, who never even needed to lift a finger to keep him wrapt around her pinky. Abigail, who was always loved and cherished by someone, somewhere.

Abigail, who was once her sister, her best friend.

That night, she waited for Gabriel at his room. She needed a conclusion to their conversation from before. She needed his assurance that everything was going to be fine. She needed to hear him say that he would take care of her and the baby and that everything will be alright.

He opens the door, and she smiles for him.

"Gabe." She greets. He sighs. This was difficult, but it was the obvious choice.

He wasn't going to let Cassie ruin his relationship with Abigail. This might break Abigail to find out. He must protect her from his drunken mistake, he told himself.

"I was just looking for you too." He said, sitting down before her.

"Oh. Good! I'm here." She said, nervous.

"Listen-" He collected himself. "I'll give you whatever you need, Cassie. Of course I'll pay for it. I take full responsibility, and if you need anything at all, please let me know."

"Oh Gabe!" She exclaimed, excited. This was what she needed to hear. He would be there for her and her unborn child.

"I-I talked to some people. And they can schedule the procedure right away for you. Only the best doctors, of course."

Something was starting to sound off to her. "Sorry?"

"I mean...I know it's going to be scary. But the doctors at St. Mungo's are the best out there. I'm sure they'll take good care of you. I can fly you out tomorrow night."

"Wh-what?" She gasped. She was beginning to understand his tone of voice and what it meant.

"Oh. I thought we had an agreement, right? I mean...you don't want a kid, Cassie. it would be such a burden. It would ruin everything for both of us, won't it?"

But Cassie didn't see it this way. She wanted him so dearly, that any connection was sacred to her. This child growing inside her, however unplanned, was still her child and the blood of the one she loved. Just the night before, she had a dream about holding the baby in her arms.
