How far would a girl go to protect the one she loved?
Too far is the answer in this case. Abigail nervously picked at her nails as she waited for Gabriel at a Hogsmeade cafe.
She wanted to run away. She couldn't do it...This was Gabriel. He means so much to her now...but now she must betray him.
She reminded that this was all for Tom Riddle.
He opens the door, his eyes so tired, yet still so hopeful when looking at her. Her heart sank. Guilt plagued her.
"Abi! Are you not well? You look tired." He said, sitting down in the chair across from her.
"I-I'm good." She replied, nervous.
"You okay? You seem weird today." He said. "Oh no..is it about..about that night?"
"Oh." She sighed. That night at the party.
"I'm sorry, Abi. I was really drunk. I shouldn't have...and I need to apologize to Cassie, I really do. Right now I don't really know how I'm going to talk to her...but I'll find a way."
"Don't drink so much, Gabe. It's not good for you."
"So you care?" He smiled eagerly.
"Of course I care about you." She replied, tears of guilt now filling her eyes. This was a true statement. She did care...just not in the way he hoped. She was not cut out for this kind of deception.
"You're sad. Don't cry, Abi. What's wrong? Did I do something wrong?" He asked, concerned.
"You did nothing wrong, Gabe. It's me. It's all me."
"What about you? Are you okay? Is it..Is it him again?" Gabriel suddenly felt angry now, his fist slowly clenching at the thought of Tom Riddle.
"If you knew something was wrong, would you still do it?" She asked him.
He thought about it for a moment. "Of course. If it was for you."
"I'm horrible." She sobbed, burying her head in her arms. He stood up and knelt beside her.
"No, you're not. Shhh. Tell me what's wrong, Abi."
She looks up at those earnest eyes and had to look away. Before she could pull away, he pulled closer to her face and leaned in. She closed her eyes and met his lips.
This kiss was gentle, soft, sad. He felt her tears on his face.
"Don't cry." He whispered on her lips, and wiped a tear off with his thumb. "You'll always have me."
Penny smiled from across the cafe. She had followed Abigail here this morning...this was juicer than she ever expected. Spotted, little Abigail, kissing golden boy Gabriel in a certain cafe.
She imagined Cassie's face when she found out.
...............................
Penny tracked Cassie down in the hall.
"Cassandra! Come here." Penny yelled.
"Go away." Cassie said, and spun around tho avoid Penny. "You're just here to stir up more drama."
"You're gonna want to hear this, trust me." Penny said, and dragged Cassie into a corner.
"What is it this time?" Cassie asked.
"I know your secret, Cass." Penny whispered.
Cassie sighed. "I don't know what you're talking about."
