hoseok and lana were sitting on the couch watching a movie. hoseok is a sucker for romance movies unlike lana who is a huge psychological thriller fan. she likes the confusion that lingers in your mind after finishing the movie yet still not understanding what happened. they settled with an old classic, romance of course.

a bowl of popcorn was placed in between lana's lap with her sitting in between hoseok's legs as he leaned against the couch. it was the halfway point and hoseok was already crying. lana was about to comment on his pathetic tears when she suddenly felt an overwhelming sickness overcome her. she ran to the bathroom and let it all out. she vomitted this morning's breakfast and yesterday's lunch.

hoseok ran to her side, holding her hair up and placing his hand on her forehead.

"i'm done." she groaned and sat back against the cabinet.

"are you okay?" hoseok asked, his voice laced with concern.

"yeah, i don't know what that was. maybe it was food poisoning or something." she washed her face with cool water. "i'm sorry but can i skip the movie, i feel really tired and drained."

"yeah, sure." hoseok said. he went to the kitchen and filled a bowl with cold water and brought a cloth. he then proceeded up the stairs and sat down beside the bed where lana lay. he soaked the cloth in the water and squeezed it lightly and then gently placed it on her forehead.

"thank you." she managed to croak.

"just sleep." hoseok whispered. "i know you're tired."

that one night, lana made almost ten trips to the bathroom, continuously puking and throwing up loads. obviously, hoseok was concerned and when morning came he couldn't contain it any longer.

"there must be something up. i'm taking you to the doctors. get changed, we're leaving." hoseok said.

"no, it's okay."

"what do you mean it's okay? why do you always refuse help?" hoseok didn't want to yell at her but he couldn't help it. she was being so stubborn. a tear escaped her eye.

"i'm scared, hoseok." she whispered. "i'm so fucking scared."

"it's okay, hun." he pulled her in for a hug. "let's just see what the doctors say."

when they both got changed, he drove her to the hospital. he called earlier for an emergency appointment and luckily they accepted. the pair sat in the waiting room, anxiety drowning them.

"it'll be okay." hoseok held her hand, squeezing it every now and then.

"i hope so."

"uh.. kim lana." the nurse called out. releasing a sigh of worry, the both of them stood up and followed the nurse into the doctors room.

lana explained the situation to the doctor and he nodded, analysing the symptoms. after taking the test, he came up with a conclusion.

"pink means pregnant." he said.

silence dawned upon the room. hoseok stared at lana and lana stared back at hoseok.

"oh my god!" hoseok exclaimed as he picked her up of the bed and spun her around. despite how happy the two were the doctor and the nurse wore unhappy expressions on their faces.

"you were pregnant." the doctor said.

"'were' what do you mean?" hoseok stared at the doctor with furrowed eyebrows.

"i'm afraid it seems to be a miscarriage."

hoseok's face fell to the floor. lana wore no facial expression. the doctor and the nurse left the room leaving the two to themselves.

"again?" lana asked herself. she sighed before covering her face with her hands as she began to quietly sob. hoseok feeling sadder than ever.
