hoseok finished up his work, all documents written up and all reports filed and sent. he crossed the last 't' and dotted the last 'i', a sigh of relief escaping his lips as he stared at his empty desk in satisfaction.

"all done?" hyejin, his coworker, asked placing a soft touch on his shoulder.

"not today, hyejin." he shook his head, grabbing his bag and walking straight past her. today has been quite a rough day, his boss yelled at him for something that wasn't even his fault and as a result of that more work was given and he wasn't allowed to leave until it was completed. it is no understatement when someone says that work is stressful because for hoseok work is the ultimate worst part of his life.

he climbed into his car, inserting the key before the engine roared with life. the sky was darkening by the second, the windowpanes of passing houses glowing like fires. the moonlight shone ever so brightly, the round sphere up in the sky showing a perfect reflection of the landscape. hoseok drove slowly, a smile tugging on his lips when he realised who he was coming home to.

the ride was an awfully long 30 minutes. he parked in the space he always does when it's not taken by new neighbours. he got out of the car and went to go open the door. he walked in to the house, all the lights turned off, darkness clouding his eyes. it was silent, the room filled with nothing but silence. he set his bag on the table and entered the living room to see his wife laying on the couch. he picked up the blanket from the ground, that he assumed slipped off, and covered it over her slim body.

"you're here?" she flinched when she felt the blanket overcome her.

"did you wait for me?" he whispered.

"yeah, but i fell asleep. i'm sorry." lana apologised.

he leaned in and planted a kiss on her forehead. "don't be sorry. it's my fault, i got held back."

"it's okay, let's go upstairs." she followed him up the stairs and to their bedroom. she immediately got into bed but didn't fall back to sleep until he was changed. he slipped under the duvet next to her and wrapped his arms around her body.

"good night." she kissed his cheek.

"good night." he did the same and in each other's arms they fell asleep.
