Monday morning was buzzing with excitement at "Dazzle Affair" the PR and sales team was in a meeting at an early hour and events management team was called in early to be a part of the meeting. Raiza arrived and took a seat next to one of the ladies she knew. Prabha was a driven yet elegant lady who had been kind to her in the past. They had a cordial relationship and wished each other whenever they crossed the path.
"Did I miss anything" she whispered to Prabha
"not much" she replied with a smile
She looked around and found all the department heads whispering and she tried to catch up with the gossip. She caught bits and pieces.
"he is smart," someone said
"I heard he is a player" the pretty woman from PR team winked.
"I doubt that... He is a serious man too busy with his growing company to indulge" her boss defended someone.
"who are we talking about" Raiza whispered to Prabha
"Mr Gyan Airwan" Prabha declared a little annoyed
" O" Raiza replied,
"didn't you get the memo?" Prabha asked
She nodded her head " I was running late for this meeting so didn't read it"
Prabha signed "well he will be here soon"
"Here" she gasped and quickly opened her calendar on her phone to check the details of the meeting and there it was "PR meet" the deceiving subject line read and in the body, the details of the client visit were mentioned along with the arrival time. She looked up at the clock opposite her and it was exactly 9.00 AM. The sound of a door opening made her turn to notice their CEO Arabella enter first followed by a Handsome Man.
Raiza sighed "I should have prepared for this morning," she thought and slowly tried to disappear into her seat.
The next thing she knew it was time for the introduction. Everyone shook hands with the man giving their profile details like achievements. She watched as his eyes assessed each employee with every smile he gave. Finally, it was her turn and she stood up to introduce herself
"Hi" she started and extended her hand then paused as he didn't move to grasp her had. Confused she looked at his face and noticed shock and then a smile. He moved to take her extended hand and replied with a polite hello.
Raiza introduced herself and the meeting was moved to the purpose of his visit.
"Ladies and Gentlemen my close friend and our favourite client Gyan is here to assess our capability to handle his new line of business he is planning to initiate" Arabella Announced. "He will take a tour of our site, warehouse, and various functions for the next 3 days" she continued "Please provide him access to relevant information" she added with a smile. Raiza smiled inwardly, the stress on relevant was not missed by anyone. Arabella was not only smart but the strategy was her core competency she was capable of getting her work done, be assertive and yet beloved all at the same time.
The meeting continued for another 20 minutes with each department being listed out for their involvement in the next 3 day. Once everyone's name was checkout on the list Arabella called her name. Suprised Raiza looked at her in confusion
"Please stay back after the meeting we need to work out the logistics of Mr Airwan's tour" she declared and moved on to the next point on the agenda. Unnerved at the declaration she kept staring at Arabella until someone pocked her gently in the ribs
"Everyone can read your mind" Prabha reminded her and she quickly schooled her expressions. She smiled at Prabha who signalled her towards someone. She turned to look and stared into the light brown eyes of Mr Gyan Airwan who was studying her intently. His stare intimidated her and she broke the eye contact and turned to focus on Arabella. From the corner of her eyes, she could still feel his gaze on her for a long time before everyone filtered out of the room slowly leaving her with Arabella and Mr Airwan.
"Raiza I need you to prepare the tour details for Mr Airwan and get it approved from me in the next 30 min" she declared.
Raiza rose from her chair "Sure Ara, I will send in the details with Ravi in the next 30 min" she agreed.
"I have sent Ravi to our Bangalore office for an even to be planned there" she replied "I need you to be the one ensuring Gyan is taken care of during the next 3 days" she declared without even a glance at Raiza. Raiza's mouth fell open in surprise she wanted to argue with her boss and have someone else escort the man making her uncomfortable. But the look she received from Arabelle in the next moment stopped her. She simple nodded and walked out of the room without a second glance.
"Fiesty" Gyan commented watching the pretty woman walkout.
Arabella smiled "that she is, but more than that she is efficient"
"And pretty" he winked
Arabella looked at him with squinted eyes "She isn't the kind that will fall for you"
"Challenge I like that" Gyan commented
"Gyan" she warned "Don't"
"Why not?" he questioned, then staring into her eyes he asked "tell me she is not your lover?" in a serious tone.
Arabella laughed "As much as I like that idea I don't date my employee" she declared
"Ah neither do I" he consented "But I can seduce your employee" he smirked
"With her, you will fail" she dismissed
"We will see" he challenged
Arabella looked at him and with a serious expression shook her head "you will loose"
"Now that is a challenge I like to take" he smiled his eyes glowing with the desire to win
"If you managed to seduce her I will consent that no woman can resist your charm" she declared
Gyan laughed oh common you know that is true as it is he declared.
"You don't know her" she added, "I do and I know there is no way any man can seduce her" she concluded.
