30. Stubborn

"I'm sorry... I don't know that you're are there... I've just read that letter yesterday.. I should come.. I shouldn't let you waiting so long that night.. I wish...I wish I was there" I hug her tightly. I release my embrace and wipe her tears.

"Don't cry.." before she said another words, I put my lips on her. I kiss her gently.. smile formed from my lips while I feel she kiss me back. We pull apart and smiling.

"Let's get back to our seat and have dinner." I hold her hand and we sat on our table. I see her phone on the table just ringing again and again. She look at me and I nodded sign her to pick up the phone. The waiters just come and place our food on the table. I see her face seems sad and worried.

"What happen? Oh God.. is she still breath normally? I will be back soon.." I look at her.

"Nath... Alya had a fever and she start shaking.. Marie just called me.. She will take her to the hospital.. can... can we get there?" she seems panicked.

"Alright.. She will be okay.." I stand up and hold her in my embrace.

"Wait here.. I'm gonna get the tab." I said and get back to paid the bills. I gave my card and waiting her to finished with the bill. I just hold a tiny square box from the pocket of my suit. I sighed. Maybe not this time Nath. I put it back again in my pocket.

We heading straight to the hospital. I hold her hands on her lap.

"She's gonna be okay..." I said and look at her. She holding back tight my hands and nodded.

After we get arrived to the hospital, she rush in and I could see there's Marie holding Anna in her arms.

"Let me take her." I said and hold Anna.

"Daddy..." She said and put her had on my shoulder.

"Ssshh... That's okay Anna.. daddy's here...just sleep" I rocking her back till she fall asleep on my arms. I see Marie just come and handed me a coffee.

"Sorry for interrupting your night.. "

"No.. don't said that.." I shakes my head.

"I think you should know about this.. Alya need an special oxygen therapy for her lungs.."

I just silent and listening what she said while I still holding Anna asleep in my arms.

"But I think we can't make it.. after Ariella know about this.. she already sold her car and tried to get a loan from bank for the treatment.. but the fund is not yet enough.. I'm sorry I didn't mean anything.. but Alya's condition is getting worse without the treatment."

"Why never telling me about this?" I tried to calm my anger.

"Ariella said she will get it by herself.. She didn't want any pity from anyone."

"I'm her father.. I should know this. Can you hold Anna? I need to talk to her." I gave Anna in her arms and take off my suit and put it on my daughter.

I get in the room and see Ariella sit beside Alya's bed.

"Can I talk to you?" she wiped her tears and walk closer to me.

"yes.." I closed my eyes tried to calm my anger.

"Why never told me about Alya? If we need a treatment than just let me know.. She's my daughter too.."

"I don't want a pity from you.."

"Gosh! That's not a pity...you're the stubborn woman I ever met.. Listen! This is not about pity or prestige or anything... this is about Alya life's.. and I can do anything for her.. with or without your permission.." she looking at me.

"She's not your daughter." she said barely said.

"Yes she is.. she called me daddy.."

"Just because she calls you daddy, doesn't mean you are.."

"You wanna arguing about that?"

"Nath please... I don't wanna make trouble to anyone.. I made a promise to my sister that I could take care of her daughter and I will take that promise with all of my life.. You can interfere this."

"Interfere? you always think that you could handle everything in your will..sometimes you need someone to hold on too.. If you want to take care of Alya then let me be part of it.. I don't care what you gonna thinking or what you're gonna do with me.. her daddy or not..or even you agree or not... I will get the treatment for her.. Don't you want her to be okay?" then suddenly Ariella hug me tightly.

I could feel she start sobbing in my chest. I hug her tightly.

"Why are you so stubborn? You know I'm here.. and always be here with you.. We will have the best treatment for her.. I promise." She nodded in my embrace.

Ariella Grace

I wake up beside Alya's bed. I decided to sleep on her bed holding her hands. She didn't like when the nurse put the IV on her hand, I caress it carefully and gave a kiss on her head. My little Alya.. please be okay for mommy.... I see it's late midnight and I could see Nathan just sleeping on the couch. Anna and Marie just get home after Darren pick them up. I take a blanket on the drawer and covered him.

He's right.. I need someone to hold on.. I need him.. I touched his hair and he shifting a little. Nath.. thank you for coming back.. for our daughters... for me...

I gave a little kiss on his forehead.
