What If...: The Story of What Could Have Been

The Battle Begins

A mixture of friends and family members from both sides arrived at the hospital to see Rosie. Many fell in love at the sight of the baby and others just giggled as the baby would smile and squirm. As time passed, Lily returned to her manor but was kept away from Maxwell, her butler recommending it. Lily counted down the days until the true battle began.

"Mrs... Mrs it's time to get up. You have to prepare yourself and the baby." A maid gently woke the mother up who was holding her baby close. Her various items were too close to the still angry Maxwell.

"Oh Miss... please just 5 more minutes." Lily groaned as she turned, keeping a hold on Rosie. The maid frowned and went over, shaking the woman again.

"Please Mrs. we do not want you to be late." The maid begged again, a tad bit whinnier than before. Lily sighed and got up from the bed, carefully keeping Lily there as she began to change out of her nightwear and into an all black dress. She had her maid begin to do her hair as her butler began to tend for the baby. Lily sighed once she was ready as she gazed upon herself in her vanity. Her body thinned out back to her original size due to the amount of working out and dieting she was forced to do from Maxwell, making it harder for her to care for Rosie.

"Rosie is ready whenever you are Mrs..." The butler said gently to the daydreaming woman. Lily turned around and took the baby, nodding at the butler. He merely nodded back and went down to prepare the car.
"Ok Rosie... promise me that you will not cry when you see Maxwell ok?" She was worried that if Rosie were to cry, people would assume something was wrong with the relationship with Rosie and Maxwell, causing more questions to arise and everything would be confessed. Her father would be there. Her mother would be there. Maxwell's family would be there. All of the town would be there. Eren's sister would be there though. The circus people would be there in hopes that Eren could be freed from the dangers he could face in jail... The one thing Lily feared about in the end of it. Her anxiety began to rise as she could hear the butler call for her to go to the car. Her breathing was shallow, her heart racing and her forehead shining with sweat. The butler saw her and stopped her, rubbing her shoulders gently

"Mrs... everything will be ok. Eren will be ok..." He reassured her with his gentle voice. Lily just nodded and sat in the car, setting up Rosie in her car seat. As soon as the Butler and Lily were set, they drove off to the courthouse.

It was all white marble materials with hints of gold lining here and there. The floor was barely recognizable due to the amount of heels and shined dress shoes covered the ground as the buzz of the case went around for the past few months. As time passed and more people flooded the house, the doors were open and people began to file in, Lily and Rosie being the last to walk in, sitting with the Highland lawyer and Maxwell. There on the other side was Eren with a lawyer that looked less prepared. The two lovers looked at each other and waved, Rosie waving to Eren, causing a smile to appear. The judge walked in, the bailiff doing his usual duties and waited for the judge to sit. The room began to fill with talk once the judge sat, which caused him to bang his gavel against the soundblock.
"Order! Order!" He yelled, people silencing. "The case of Eren Vs The Highlands can now begin..."
