Adrien threw a hand over his mouth to keep himself from saying anything. Or making an noise in general for that matter.
He pressed himself flat against the wall next to him, as if it would hide him from what he just saw.
But there was no taking it back now.
Questions. So many questions. Too many questions. But he didn't have time for questions now did he?
He fumbled to get Plagg from under his jacket, unable to conceal the shock on his face.
"You alright kid?." Plagg asked, watching Adrien's frantic movements.
"I'm okay...Yeah good...." He mumbled, before speaking his signature words and launching himself into the action.
Low and behold, another akuma, dressed in multiple colors, screeching about whatever or whoever put a stick up their ass.
"I am s-"
Before the akuma could finish, Chat knocked it in the jaw with his baton.
The man stumbled backwards, his eyes going wide with the shock of being hit in the face, then again, maybe he should've expected it, flaunting around the way that he was.
"I'm not in the mood for your backstory, let's just get this over with." He spoke with a furrowed brow, moving his feet into a battle stance.
Ladybug looked at him curiously, standing behind him, using the taut string of her yoyo to support her body weight.
Before anyone else got a word in, Chat smacked the akuma again, surprising both the man, and ladybug herself.
She watched from the sidelines, not having room to even try to get a good hit in. She watched Chat nearly beat the akuma to a pulp, before he grabbed the hat off of his head and used his cataclysm to destroy it. Ladybug blinked away her shock, and caught the akuma, purifying it and watching it fly away.
The akuma hadn't even really had a chance to destroy the city, and she hadn't gotten to use her lucky charm. Heck, no one even knew this akuma's name except for hawkmoth himself. Ladybug wondered if he was standing in his lair, as confused and surprised as she was. But before she could question Chat on his ferocity, he came stalking over with the same death glare he had given the akuma just moments ago. If she didn't know any better, she would've thought he would attack her.
"What's your problem?!" She couldn't help but feel offended, with him staring at her like she just murdered his cat or something.
"What's my problem!?!?" He raised his voice, now standing right in front of her.
"You shouldn't even be out here! You've got a broken ankle!" He fumed.
"Excuse me? Do I look incapable to you? Don't talk to me like you're my guardian." She raised an eyebrow, she wasn't about to let this mangled stray treat her like a child.
"You could've gotten hurt, again!" He yelled.
"Not any worse than you, stupid!! You were running around like a kid on a sugar high! You're lucky you didn't fall off the roof!" She gestured with her hands to emphasize her words.
"I was protecting you!!"
"You were being reckless!!" She argued.
"What is wrong with you!?! You're never like this Chat!! Please just talk to me." She sat down against the ledge of the roof, patting the spot next to her.
"No! I need to get you to safety!" He shook his head.
"How about you shut up and sit down, before I get angry." she crossed her arms.
