Adrien ran a hand through his slick hair, before banging his fist against his steering wheel.
An annoying beep came from the horn, as he quickly took his hand away from the wheel. Luckily, Marinette was already inside, and no one seemed to notice.
He let out a frustration laced sigh, and started up his engine.
Marinette was acting strange. Very strange. Maybe he had been a little harsh with his rejection. Wait....was it a rejection? He just suggested they stay friends....and hang out in groups....
Looking back on it now, telling Marinette they shouldn't hang out alone was completely idiotic. He originally said it, so that nothing would happen between them. But thinking about it now, Marinette wasn't the type of person to try to steal a kiss, or be itimate with someone who wasn't willing.
She usually kept to herself when it came to her feelings. Thinking about it now, he realized just how much she had paid attention to everyone else's problems.
She had been acting very sassy lately. Maybe if it were some other time, Adrien would find it nice to have a bit of fire from Marientte. She was always so quiet, and sweet. But now....it was too weird to see it. Especially directed towards him.
Maybe he was being too complicated, maybe she was just a bit moody and would go back to her original state. He liked Marientte, he really did, but he didn't enjoy seeing her like this.
He had gotten to know her pretty well, but now, she seemed like a stranger.
Plagg suddenly broke Adrien's train of thought.
"Are we just gonna sit here in front of her house or are we actually gonna go somewhere?" He asked in a snarky tone.
Adrien quickly realized he was still parked outside the bakery. He quickly, but properly, pulled away and onto the road.
"Sorry plagg, I was lost there for a moment." he sighed, averting his eyes to the road ahead of him.
"Wow Adrien. In love with two girls are we?" Plagg chuckled.
"What? No. Marinette is just a friend. I'm worried about her." He responded quite awkwardly.
"If you say so." Plagg shrugged.
Time skip
The morning had been pretty uneventful. Adrien got ready as usual, and headed downstairs to eat breakfast alone. It was something he was used to, and had grown to accept. He didn't mind it as much as his younger self had.
He made his way to his car, which took alot of convincing for his father to even allow him to think about having. His father was always so....protective? He wasn't even sure if that would be the correct term. Maybe controlling would suit him better. Either way, Adrien was glad to be able to drive himself places.
He arrived to school, just in time to see Marinette walking into the building. She had always walked to school, since her home was close, and it saved alot of gas. Adrien would walk to school, but his father wouldn't allow it.
It was too much for Adrien most times.
Adrien got out of his car, and called for Marinette.
She swiftly turned her head, spotting Adrien nearing her. She quickly hid her face with her hand, and spedwalk into the building.
"Hey!" he yelled, picking up his pace as well.
He caught her just as she was about to enter the empty classroom.
