This story doesn't follow the exact storyline of Miraculous, I started this before the latest seasons/teasers, so that's why Kagami and Luka aren't really parts of this story. And as for Lila, she might play a part but I haven't decided yet.

*Also, this is assuming that Tikki doesn't know Chat Noir's identity.*

The days had been dragging lately. Melting and mixing together to the point where the days of the week and the months and the year were all the same thing.

Marinette was always one for zoning out, but today she wasn't sure she had ever been zoned in. The clock read 1:45 p.m.

She was in a classroom, which one, she wasn't sure. Her pencil was tapping lightly against her notebook, she hadn't opened it the entire class. Everyone else was turning in their textbooks, so she begrudgingly pulled hers from her bag and peeked over to the person beside her to see the page number. 231.

Why were there so many pages in a text book?

Why were the explanations so long and drawn out? Half of the things she was skimming over could be explained in a sentence. Then again, she was the one not understanding anything going on around her.

She pretended to work for a few minutes, before staring out the window. She usually didn't mind where she sat in class, but today it was annoying her. Having a school in the city didn't really make for a quiet, window looking session.

But nevertheless it was slightly calming. Paris was beautiful, but it was also interesting.

Meaning, you never knew what you'd find if you just looked outside. She liked people watching. Something about seeing all of those people interact without the stress that they might be under a strangers gaze.

It was enough for her to focus on.

She looked back into the room, reading the writing on the board as the lecture continued.

Her eyes stopped on the date.

It had been a month since Hawkmoth had stopped sending daily akumas, and nearly 3 weeks since her unfortunate conversation with Adrien.

Everything since then, had made little to no sense.

Time felt like it was the only thing that was happening anymore. Like it was the only thing that was constantly going.

Everything else was entirely irrational.

Marinette glanced at her foot, hoping desperately to get her cast off soon. Or at least, to be put in a boot.

Ladybug could walk, Marinette could not. She figured her injury might've been much worse had she not been her hero persona.

The suit could protect her from any fall, as long as she actually landed it. Or at least, fell in a position that wasn't twisted.

But as much shock as the suit could absorb, it couldn't stop her from falling in such a way.

She still couldn't believe she had managed it.

The bell was ringing. How was the bell ringing? Was it already time to go? She didn't have a class next period, should she go to the library?

Marinette gathered her thoughts, and her things, and headed that way.

The library was quiet. It was good.

When she got there, her crutches clacked on the ground, echoing against the walls of the empty room. No one was there.

Perfect.

She let out a heavy sigh when she sat down.

"Hey Marinette..." Tikki whispered, cracking open the bag on the girls hip.
